  1. What does that mean? I've heard it before but have no idea.
  2. Yep I realised that after I posted. Still only 11 years though - inflation would have only been maybe 30-40% in that time. Its a beautiful stadium, much prettier than SMS - but it was around 5 times the price per seat even allowing for inflation. I just think it owes more to a vanity project than to best use of money for a football club.
  3. Makes you realise what a bargain SMS was for £30m. SMS cost around £950 per seat. OL stadium cost around £7,500 per seat - even allowing for inflation that is a massive difference. Both have good sight lines, a good pitch, toilets and a roof. Is it really worth all the extra money to create an architect's wet dream for a building which is used for a few hours maybe 25 times a year - and then financially hobbling the team for years?
  4. Even that is moot. The CAP tries to strike a balance between maintaining security of food supply in times of war or world hunger (clearly its risky to import all your food), maintaining a reasonable level of environmental protection and biodiversity, and making the countryside accessible to walkers. Around 50% of a British farmer's income comes from the CAP. If we stopped subsidising agriculture altogether farming in most areas of the country would be uneconomic. Do we want a country entirely reliant on imports and a countryside absent of fields and livestock? Could you increase production by ripping up all the hedgerows, canalising all the streams to create 2km square prairies and then using massive amounts of pesticides and fertiliser? - sure. But in the process you would reduce jobs, destroy almost all wildlife, create an unattractive countryside for visitors and produce a huge bill for cleaning up our water supplies due to run off. And after doing all that it would still be cheaper to import from Kenya or Peru.
  5. I dont know what we've been arguing about. Its all explained here.
  6. Mothercare and Johnson & Johnson are going to be devastated they've got no customers.
  7. ****s. I'd rather Krakow was 18 miles down the road instead of Portsmouth.
  8. Miserable git still doesnt crack a smile, even for his signing on pic http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/225674-liverpool-complete-deal-for-sadio-mane
  9. GM sells poisons. Oddly enough the EU dont want a lot of them.
  10. Possibly, but it lists different candidates to this. Milan announcing on July 1st. Maybe Puel is second choice behind FdB and we're waiting on Milan. http://www.football-italia.net/86212/milan-brocchi-giampaolo-de-boer
  11. Coffee from Costa too?
  12. Ultimately its a political decision. As no-one knows who the US President will be, who the UK PM will be or what the game plan will be, its a zero sum game.
  13. They arent in negotiations with Swaziland. We can do the **** waving about wealth creation if you like Johnny.
  14. Just like last time. 1 seat. Farage couldnt even get himself elected.
  15. He did. That doesn't mean there won't be.

The German players dont have to put up with this kind of crap every match. http://www.independent.ie/style/celebrity/celebrity-news/its-absolutely-shocking-coleen-rooney-responds-to-the-suns-front-page-featuring-her-son-kai-6-crying-34839948.html
  17. I'd say that statement supports my position above, not yours. They want the TTIP and they want Britain in the EU batting for it. Whether we get priority in queue jumping depends on who wins the Presidential election. Clinton isnt going to bolster the UK conservative right epitomised by Boris and Farage against her more natural allies the conservative left. Trump might, but then he isnt going to win.
  18. They'll be conned with false promises again, just like the referendum.
  19. The reality is that the US will push Britain to to what is in its (US) best interests, and that is to stay in the EU. They aren't going to be making it easy for us to leave. If leaving becomes a fait accompli their attitude may change, but I wouldnt bet my economy on it.

Exactly. Its down to the players. For the smaller countries playing for the national side is mostly a chance to give up the lower leagues, low wages and obscurity for a chance to shine on the big stage. Even if you fail you're a hero because you tried hard against bigger opposition. For England players its just a chance to play yet another high pressure match for less money and get criticised unless its both a stellar performance and result, every time. Its not just their fault. Its the situation of modern football.
  21. Its true Johnny. The US have spare trade negotiators kept in a cupboard just in case a friend and ally suddenly finds themselves at a loose end. Its like burger flipping y'see, anyone can do it.

More passion on the pitch, more passion with their girlfriends. Too much Nivea in the English game.
  23. So because Wenger was once Puel's manager as a player, Arsenal's hierachy are definitely going to employ him next year? Get rid of one Wenger you're tired of and get another in? Got it.
