  1. We should do one of those for Mane. Some cracking goals at the start / finish and 8 minutes in the middle with nothing happening.
  2. It was mentioned in the bill enabling the Brexit referendum - or more to the point mandatory was not mentioned. Brexit was advisory. Other referenda, like for example the referendum on PR / STV incorporated an automatic trigger requiring the Government to legislate to enact the result. The Brexit one didnt. Note the article below was written before the vote - there is no spin or bias. "The relevant legislation did not provide for the referendum result to have any formal trigger effect. The referendum is advisory rather than mandatory. The 2011 referendum on electoral reform did have an obligation on the government to legislate in the event of a “yes” vote (the vote was “no” so this did not matter). But no such provision was included in the EU referendum legislation. What happens next in the event of a vote to leave is therefore a matter of politics not law. It will come down to what is politically expedient and practicable." https://next.ft.com/content/5b82031e-1056-31e1-8e0e-4e91774e27f1 http://uk.businessinsider.com/eu-referendum-interview-peter-catterall-on-eu-brexit-2016-6
  3. Which part of 'advisory' are you struggling with?
  4. High streets are dying everywhere. Brighton is one of the best cities around but Churchill Square and Western Road isnt better than Above Bar and West Quay.
  5. That must be it. Either that or since they've been on sale for ages and over 20,000 have already been sold most people who want one have already got it.
  6. Ensuring the security of your kid is of course the most important. I'd venture Pelle could do that on £2.5m pa and doesn't need to leave in order to get £7.5m pa. Uprooting your family just to get more money than you need is not "prioritizing life and see what is important and what is just a crock of ****".
  7. You posted this "some can prioritize life and see what is important and what is just a crock of ****". I'd say that was pompous. Then you posted this "this is why I hate football. Money, money, money. Is there nothing more to football than how much money you can spend? What a truly **** "sport" it is if that is it" Tbf thats less pompous and more hypocritical
  8. Bizarre. Yesterday you made a couple of slightly pompous posts about how awful the money in the game was and now you think someone on £2.5m pa wont be set for life and people should leave for more money.
  9. Clubs like Chelsea can afford to pay £16m for a players knowing they'll probably only get one good season out of him. We can't afford to turn down £16m for the same reason.
  10. Can I recommend English Comprehension for Dummies? I think you'll find it helpful. "According to the opinion poll" makes it clear the information cannot be relied upon with certainty. Had I written "5% of voters have switched sides" that would be presenting it as a fact and you would then have a point. But I didn't, so you don't. You're welcome.
  11. I like the fact that not every square metre of the city centre has got 'prestigious', 'designer', 'exclusive' identikit flats on it.
  12. According to the opinion poll conducted a week after the referendum 5% of leave voters have already switched sides and only 2% of remain. You're out of touch with the majority of the country. I like the 'bitter' posts because it betrays worry. The remainers aren't going to give up and you know you're never going to get what you want, which is nice.
  13. Capacity is only 29,552 according to this site, smaller than SMS. http://www.ligue1.com/ligue1/affluences/journee
  14. or not. Either
  15. Theresa May will get voted in. There will a fudge agreement, nothing will change except we get a tiny fig leaf concession over immigration and the single market to pretend it was all worth it - and in the meantime have suffered loss of economic growth and the confidence of investors.
  16. Michael Howard deserves an honourable nomination
  17. Britain hiring extra immigrants to help out Brexit
  18. Good. He was a busted flush. Failed to get elected to UK parliament, disowned by UKIP's only MP, shunned by the Brexit campaign. Now says he wants his life back - but refuses to give up his well paid seat in the European parliament. Add hypocrite to the list.
  19. ...
  20. Being able to express yourself is vital though isnt it? Its not just conveying your ideas and expectations - its getting a sense of yourself across and getting people to believe in you. Simply having a translator cant do that. My French is about as good as Puel's English. I wouldnt try to manage a work team in France.
  21. Is it? Blair is the only Labour leader to win an election since Harold Wilson in 1974 - and he only did that by being 'Tory lite scum'. Callaghan, Foot, Kinnock, Brown and Miliband all failed - and the more left they were the worse the results. If we had PR Labour could occupy the mainstream left position and get into government regularly in coalition with the LDs, Greens or SNP. Their problem now is that they need to appeal to the middle to get elected under first past the post, and much of the shrinking traditional vote see that as selling out.
  22. Its got to be better than having his balls in a vice.
  23. Can't see how giving an interview would help.
