  1. I had a journo mate who used to say exactly the same about Prince Edward - pre Sophie and how it would all come out soon. Im not saying its not true, but journos tend to believe the yarns their colleagues spin about almost having a blockbuster story, just cant quite get the formal substantiation more often than they should.
  2. I don't think anyone is pretending all the non voters are anti Tory. For me its about getting a voting system which gives value to all votes and encourages people to turn out and make their mark. Its not about sour grapes or manipulating the scores because you didnt like the result. Democracy is about more than supporting whatever system gives your party the best chance of winning. PR in the last election probably would have delivered a much more right wing Conservative / UKIP coalition. That doesn't mean I think its the wrong thing to do.
  3. He just doesn't like it. The rest is fluff attempting to disguise that fact. I often dont vote where I now live in mid Sussex because its a very safe seat. When I lived in fairly marginal Brighton Pavilion I always did. If we had PR the turnout would go up and we would get more legitimate government - probably coalitions which command well over 50% of the votes - instead of dictatorship of majority by the minority.
  4. Depends whether Bletch is there or not.
  5. Bletch. There is a whole cross section of humanity on this board, hundreds or thousands of posters. Pap is the only one I had contempt for because of lack of humanity and willingness to throw people under a bus just to try to win an argument on a Saints forum. The fact he had some intelligence and knowledge and was capable of better makes him more culpable not less.
  6. I thought he was in the forum?
  7. If it wasnt for Harry Kane's goals, the player pochettino started off the season refusing to play, Spurs would be mid table and he'd be fighting for his job.
  8. edit oops, thought he said posts not awards.
  9. Cerberus est in atrio
  10. Go for it if you like it. Council houses, especially those built in the 1950s and 1960s tend to be well built and relatively spacious and that might well be a better choice for you than something small and grotty but in a 'private' area. Yes the market for them is more limited but someone will always be interested at the right price, just as you are. Obviously houses in small developments tend to be more desirable than in the middle of a big estate. Also check out your potential neighbours - whether their houses are well cared for or rundown / cars parked across the gardens etc. Ive got a feeling you can check with the council to see if there have been any complaints about noisy / problematic neighbours.
  11. I searched google for 'visually similar images'. These are number six and number 7. Seemed about right for Pap
  12. I refuse to believe anyone is that dim, it must be lame trolling. Its a fact because it happened. If you cant remember then you can check google where a hundred different sources will tell you. Is the OECD good enough as one example and the EU good enough for the seal products? http://www.oecdobserver.org/news/fullstory.php/aid/3526/Fisheries:_The_lessons_of_the_Grand_Banks.html http://ec.europa.eu/environment/biodiversity/animal_welfare/seals/seal_hunting.htm
  13. It's fine. We were asleep
  14. 'kin ell. You know you're getting old when you look at that pic and your first thought is "I like that jumper"
  15. Yes, but Wes doesn't read too well and its wasted breath to explain it.
  16. Everybody is.
  17. You guys know this is utterly tedious for the rest of us right? Its what the pm system is for
  18. But the problem is with the legislation not the implementation. The law doesnt distinguish between a single woman living in a four bed detached house for 20 years and somebody whose son has gone to fight in Afghanistan for a year. We all (mostly) know what is right and what is wrong when we see it. On a case by case basis most people might agree, but its practically impossible to draft effective law on that basis.
  19. Typical Tory, always lying to avoid taxes.
  20. No no you dont understand. Before fishing boats there were no fish, the seals ate them all. It was only the advent of hundreds of bottom trawlers ripping up the seabed that saved the day.
  21. Too right, minimum wage. I nominate Bearsy to pay £20 like normal.
  22. The legislation will be introduced to Parliament on Tuesday. Mr Hockey said it was "pretty evident" which companies would be targeted. Big multinational firms such as Google, Apple and Microsoft have been accused of moving their profits to countries with lower rates of tax. The move will see Australia join the UK in its bid to tackle alleged tax avoidance by big firms, although Mr Hockey said the proposed legislation would go "much further" than Britain's current tax laws.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-32687822 Good for them. I wonder whether it will work and whether the Conservative government will have the balls to do the same, or will it claim we have to be business friendly otherwise they might leave us and take all the nice jobs with them (especially the non exec director ones).
  23. That fits. You can barely see their lowly league position from the PL.
  24. Not that I know of, most people recognise you cant do two jobs simultaneously and not short change somebody. Add in £250,000pa from the Telegraph and you can make it three.
