  1. ... Its what I thought you'd grasp.
  2. No facts + supposition + poor analysis = your conclusion. Way to go.
  3. Thats exactly what he said he didnt want. He wants a club in a bigger league but one where he can make a difference through coaching.
  4. Its got nothing to do with the title and everything to do with how you structure a club. Would you really have wanted Pochettino overseeing the design of the new Staplewood, recruitment of scholars, finding new signings places to live and get their visa sorted - or would you have preferred him to focus on the first team?
  5. He's not alone..
  6. Why would they improve unless the English language has got easier or people have got brighter? Don't confuse improvement in exam results with improvement in standards.
  7. That jarred a bit, but overall a good, re-assuring interview.
  8. That's got more to do with immigration levels than teaching standards. I'd bet that if you compared English born pupils from speaking English at home families then the standards would be at least as high now as 15 years ago.
  9. Would be an unusual move. Cant see any candidates wanting their name released publicly when there is only, say, a one in four chance of getting the job. What club wants to employ other peoples cast offs or have it known their manager applied for another job and got turned down?
  10. Good interview. Pleased with the subtext.
  11. Tedious, like before
  12. No, Mr Kipling
  13. Totally different owner, chairman and CEO but you think thats relevant?
  14. Fair enough, apols. Pochettino didnt have a plan B though and I don't think was due to inability to formulate one or lack of options in players (although we are short in critical areas). He simply wanted us to play a certain style in every game, to set the tempo instead of responding to it. Its possible to argue that is a good or a bad thing, but I think its hard to argue it didn't happen.
  15. Doh. He's quoting the BBC article. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27599165
  16. Its a real risk. Its much easier to motivate and mould players who are already excited about progressing from the Championship or being promoted from the academy.
  17. My only reservation with Moyes would be whether he would be really motivated. He's been around the block a few times with bigger clubs than us and got a kicking at Man U. We would be step down for him - got to avoid another saggy going through the motions.
  18. The fact he is paying £2m compensation per chance?
  19. Two mistakes in one sentence. 1. Its in the news section ie not a comment piece. 2. A comment piece is not the same as a feature. Apart from that, bang on.
  20. Too true. Like the best holiday or worst airports threads - people try and compete for the most obscure location to prove what a Bear Grylls jetsetter they are (aka stay in Holiday Inn). I got 8 when I thought I'd got 11.
  21. Agree - its impossible to gauge how good someone is unless they have operated in a competitive league instead of a one or two horse race.
  22. Not even that, its just reporting peoples reaction to conjecture and rumour - totally pointless piece by Phil Space. .
