  1. Exactly - you don't actually know. Ryanair are ****e because of the way they treat people when things go wrong, and they do go wrong. Delayed flight? its our fault but **** you, go buy your own food and wait, no compensation. Missed your flight because you were delayed? £120 plus cost difference. Not got your print at home boarding card because our website was playing up? £70. We've lost your bag? you might get it in 4 or 5 days and no we wont pay for any new clothes to wear. Bag overweight by a kilo? £25. Instant coffee and a 65p packet of crackers? £6.50 BA have transferred me to earlier / later flights without charge; put us all on a cart to the gate when I was travelling alone with two small kids and luggage (Ryanair tried to insist my six year old daughter sit separate from us); offered me £120 to volunteer to catch a later plane (2 hours) while Ryanair bounced me for five hours with no compensation. The real price difference between BA and Ryanair over say 10 flights when say 2 or 3 things have gone wrong is non existent - so you get the better, more pleasant service for free.
  2. Probably should stay away from prophets called Jones, and Guyana.
  3. Maybe a rolling contract which always has two years left would do that.
  4. Bazza already speaks in strange and often unintelligible tongues.
  5. I think thats true. A percentage of the population seems more predisposed to some kind of higher force or guidance than others - almost regardless of what it is. Also when people are young they see themselves as a single entity - but as they age the mind /spirit / soul / whatever seems to remain young whilst the body starts to fall apart. That can lead to a feeling of being a perpetual life force occupying a mortal body and all the God / lizard / angel imaginations / attempted explanations that go with that.
  6. What a cracking idea. We need to find a suitable religion for Bazza. I'll make pitch for Buddhism - all that inner contemplation, meditation and humbleness could be just what Saintweb is after.
  7. Edit. dunno. The place i went to is now closed apparently. This article might help http://www.themoscowtimes.com/arts_n_ideas/article/good-bars-and-pubs-for-expat-sports-fans/488419.html
  8. A seven year contract for any manager is crazy no matter who it is. It encourages the things you don't want - complacency and laziness and disincentives the things you need - reward based on results, freshness and a sense of needing to renew.

  10. I was going to write that the effect of parental religious values is stronger in children and young adults than later in life as people gain their own knowledge of the world - but Im not actually sure that true. Theres an odd persistence of values that you learned as a child - even if later you objectively think they don't make logical sense.
  11. People make choices based on their experience of whats available - and much of that experience is handed down from their parents. Parents aren't a determinant but a very strong influence.
  12. Depends how many kids God had. I don't think the girls could all be Jesus.
  13. Fair enough - i just thought that the lactose combined with the chocolate would give a lot of sugar.
  14. Er yes. Controversial story / any old crap which generates interest = more visits to site = more advertising revenue.
  15. Worse for them.At least you're here: and not here: - the Victory suite named after the ship and not the result.
  16. Very true. If only someone would come up with a new telomere exercise and diet plan.
  17. More a case of the media reporting on the reaction to a story previously reported by themselves which itself orginated in a rumour. A professional example of how to fill pages in a 24 hour hour news hungry age imo.

  20. I was taught all kinds of things. Half I disbelieved and most of the rest I've forgotten.
  21. A doc once told me literally almost anything will cause cancer if you ingest / rub on your skin enough of it. A whole world of scare stories for the DM.
  22. I gave up them years ago once I realised that by the time you added in the schlep to Stansted, the pay for seat /coffee/snack/ luggage it worked out far cheaper, quicker and more pleasant to use BA from Gatwick.
