  1. You're still doing it. You need to realise there is no mob, no orchestrated movement, just a bunch of individual Saints fans who mostly have never met. Mostly they come on a Saints board to chat about Saints with fellow fans and have a laugh. Its supposed to be fun. If there is someone humming and ****ing on their leg while they try to do that then why bother? Not everyone is a caped web crusader looking to take people on. Any kind of forum is akin to a club. Its not about having the same views, its about having a fairly basic set of social skills to get on with people.
  2. Goldman Sachs are an investment bank, not retail bank. People like RBS have bigger balance sheets and pay their CEO a lot less.
  3. I agree the quotes strongly imply he is staying - the trouble is quotes in sport and politics have become almost empty and meaningless. People say what they think they are expected to and what makes them look good, because if they're candid and honest they get pilloried.
  4. You're missing the point Pap You have to post on here regularly to become aware that some tw ats are posting just for the reaction and therefore should be ignored. There will always be a stream of occasional or new posters who don't realise the posts aren't genuine and will respond to them. Its like trying to organise a winning synchronised swimming when half the team don't know the moves, doomed to failure.
  5. Its still a lot by number - probably around 50% - but the vast majority are about quality and standards in environment, consumer protection, food, employment etc which as you say the UK Government would have to do for itself at great expense if we didn't adopt common standards. The real meat of policy on social, health, taxation, education, energy, transport etc is controlled by the UK government not by the EU. Do you really consider a regulation on bacteria count in jam to be of the same importance as higher rate taxation or unemployment benefit? UKIP are deliberately misrepresenting facts to generate fear amongst the credulous. There is a real problem of excess immigration atm, exacerbated by the UK governments failure to build housing but the solution is what the Germans and French propose - only allowing immigrants to claim benefits in their home countries. These things even out over time, hundreds of thousands of Brits used to work in Germany during the 1980s recession here.
  6. It is wrong. Its a made up variation of a made up figure by German politician Werrner Herzog. UKIP admit they took the figure of 84% from Herzog who was talking about regulations rather than the more important stuff of budgetary legislation (ie taxation and spending). UKIP then deducted an arbitary 9% based on nothing "because we aren't in the Euro". These regulations are mainly stuff that if the UK didn't use common European standards we would gave to adopt our own standards at great expense and would be of poor quality. Remember Mad Cow disease and why Britain was the only country to experience it? They apply to sensible stuff creating a single spec and quality standard for cars, imported food, money laundering, safety of ferries and aircraft etc. Personally I wouldnt be upset if it went further - the loss of our right to feed pig brains to cows, allow speculative pyramid investment by our banks or build new houses without any standards so are the smallest and crappest in the whole of Europe.
  7. People are more culturalist than racist imo. People, even those express the view they are 'colour blind', are naturally drawn to people like them - similar age, class, language, tv programmes. Colour is just one factor. I saw an interview with a black actor talking about the set of Planet of the Apes and how for breakfast the Hispanics, blacks and whites tended to eat in separate groups. Later at lunch and in make-up the tables divided into Chimps, Gorillas and Orang Utans.
  8. I've met a man whose head was crunched by a 'friendly' zoo tiger when he was 12. You've got to be mad to go in the cages and treat them like pussy cats.
  9. Thats an arse strain isnt it?
  10. Me too. PR for European elections ensures they have a decent chance in many parts of the country too.
  11. If you're on £20,000pa and someone offers you £60,000pa that would change your life. But if you're already on £1.8m pa what will actually improve as a result of triple that money? Moving way from friends, family, wife/girlfriend happy where they are, you like your teamates / manager. Obviously some players would go, especially the more ambitious ones, but its by no means as universal / automatic as many think.
  12. Yeah masturbation is frowned on at work. It is in my convent anyway.
  13. I can relate to that. Im divorced now though.
  14. Its not a spelling error Haline, its more fundamental - the wrong choice of word. How can you live with yourself and the utter, utter shame?
  15. Definitely looks like to me. Good spot. Im glad she got to see one of the most memorable moments for Saints in recent years.
  16. Oh no. A humiliating school boy error confusing 'discrete' with 'discreet', and on the word thread too. I'm mortified for Halon
  17. At least he's consistent on screen and off.
  18. More than half of what we spent on transfers was wasted.
  19. Not really. A banking chief on £2.2m will likely have 200,000 employees ans the company making £5bn profit from £1trillion of assets. A company with 200 employees and making a spanking loss, not so much.
  20. Numbers stations reached the digital era maybe... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-27238332
  21. There is a huge difference between passionate saints fans who happen to be pessimistic and those who simply post carp they dont believe or even care about in order to get a reaction. Success is measured in response, acknowledgement - like the loppo kid in school who did anything for attention.
  22. Whats your point Hypo? Does having a druggy dysfunctional upbringing leave lasting damage on a child or not? If not why are you so concerned? If it does is it not hypocritical to be judgemental?
  23. This, although personally I prefer say 50 or 60 per week as occasionally you can get into a good debate - in the lounge of course, never here anymore.
  24. You contradicted yourself in one short sentence. What she didnt have was parents who gave her a stable home but instead exposed her to a chaotic druggy lifestyle. She had a mum who preferred heroin and Michael Hutchence to being at home with her. You have "sympathy for the children" but not sympathy for her who had the same childhood.
