I do. Ive just shelled out a fortune for life insurance and income protection. It inevitably means Im bullet proof until 65 then will drop dead the week after.

It wasnt that each shot was more damaging, simply that it had a much faster rate of fire.

I really wanted one I saw in the paper when I was about 14 - advertised with an effective range of 1/3 of a mile. Mum would never let me have it.

News International are determined to get back at the BBC for its live coverage of the Leveson Inquiry and the associated stories like the Millie Dowler hacking. As it is they are simply giving oxygen to the Savile investigation and making more likely that one will blow up in their faces too.

Wow. I want to keep Adkins but accept there are a few managers, like David Moyes, who would be an upgrade. Hoddle doesn't even come close to being on that list.

Its a very short list on Saintsweb

The Echo were trying to get the club to comment on speculation about the managers future. If the club had responded to that specific issue, no matter what they said the Echo would have twisted it into either "NA gets dreaded vote of confidence" or "Club refuse to back Adkins as manager". Saying 'we dont answer your questions and we havent for ages' is the best they could have done.

Dumb things people done to get banned or whatever!

Seems a bit unfair for that. I sent two guys with a baseball bat round DPS's gaff and I got an apology, bottle of whisky and no infractions at all. -
That should help them trough through what little money they have even faster.

Would be nice if they got the name of the disease right - Gastroschisis

Thats a fair synopsis, My overall feeling is of unease that something within the structure, processes, staffing or ownership isnt right. Organisational structures where responsibilities are shared can work - but sometimes one person with sole operational responsibility for fulfilling a vision is the way to go. I think Adkins knew what we needed / need but for whatever reason he didnt get it. Without wishing be be overly pessimistic, it will be much harder to rectify that in January if we are languishing near the bottom and looking like a demoralised team heading down.

My view too

Well done. You've simply taken the opposite position to Turkish but used the same risible justification to support an equally shaky position - make a straw man and knock it down with 'everybody else is thick which is why they dont have the same acute insight as me me me'. Read the interview Les Reed gave around six weeks ago. He clearly says he is in charge of recruitment, not Adkins. In fact the whole article is full of himself. Yes its hard for a newly promoted team to attract quality players. However Swansea, Wigan, Norwich etc managed it, and they didnt have £30m to spend. No-one knows why we didnt get the defensive players most knew we needed, but instead signed more attacking players leaving the the squad very unbalanced. Maybe were unlucky, maybe key deals fell through at the last minute, maybe we want to pay good transfer fees but not good wages, maybe we identified the wrong targets or were inexperienced / incompetent in the execution. The real point is Adkins isnt responsible for recruitment and signings and no matter how good a manager or coach you are you can very rarely turn a late 20s or 30s lg1 / championship player into a commanding PL one.

Which part of this quote isnt relevant? " "To have improved the way we have in the last two years with this group of players is testament to how well they've done. We are still working to bring players in. I know the chairman is working very hard, and having spoken to him yesterday I'm very excited about what's on the horizon because I know how hard he's working to make things happen. I imagine we'll be making more signings". Ok, so here's the nub of the above quotes. The chairman is well and truly responsible for making transfers happen, not the manager - which is fine in principle, as long as the manager is identifying the players - but if they don't fill the squad this window, it won't be Nigel's fault" " Those quotes say two things: 1. Many of the players have done amazingly well to raise their game from lg1 level, but lets not kid ourselves they can compete in the PL 2. Ive no idea who is coming in,lets hope they are good

Im not sure many did do that. I think a lot hoped he was wrong, as Adam did himself.

The BBC is trying to do too much. At one time the licence fee covered two channels and four radio stations. Now 30 odd radio stations, Iplayer, numerous tv channels massive website, 24 hour news etc. They are trying to do much on too little and the quality is not there IMO they should focus on public interest broadcasting - news, documentaries, natural world, 'how stuff works' etc and and leave the commercial stuff to the commercial stations. They should also act as an arm of UK PLC - broadcasting the UK perspective and British culture to the rest of the world - so things like Iplayer should be free to access from abroad and the site should be advert free.

Good artice. Identifies the issus but blames the wrong man. Adam Blackmore's blog from August should be required reading for everybody on this forum http://bigadamsport.blogspot.co.uk/

Maybe not excessively strong in quality, but certainly in numbers. Central defence was strong in neither. Martin is much better than Seabourne - Adkins would only have sent him out on loan if he was sure two quality CBs were coming in imo.
-
Guly was playing on the left wing. Anybody who thinks Lambert can do that needs mental help imo.
-
8 would have been fine if they included more players where we were weak and fewer where we were already strong.
-
Cant agree with that. I specifically remember Adkins saying in an interview he wanted to bring two centre backs in. Literally no-one, even on this board would think Fonte and Hooiveld backed up by Seabourne was an adequate PL central defence
-
We play that attacking system because he knows we need to score because we dont have the quality to defend effectively imo.
-
Yes but I never knew you balanced a plate on the end... Why dont you just use that graphic with Andy's Clean Windows' and your phone number? Would be a good ad that.

Thats misses the ppoint though tbf. Yours is a valid point if he were thinking about buying new, but he isnt. By buying a used Insignia the OP would be benefitting from the fact someone else has already been hammered by the depreciation and he can pick up a bargain if he wants to keep it and run it for years.
