  1. Since we're doing left field pics .... I saw this in Littlehampton yesterday (google pic, I didnt take it)
  2. One of the interviews said he played as CM playmaker for Ajax academy, striker for Vitesse at first, then winger and now more recently left back. Its probably his versatility that attracts and I doubt he is seen as a direct replacement for Fox.
  3. They're all at it. Maybe someone out of shot has just unwrapped herself from the pole.
  4. Please. Learn when to STFU. He simply posted up a link from another site with some question marks. You on the other hand see nothing wrong with starting whole new threads on nothing more substantial then something you imagine Cortese might have said.
  5. Thank God. I thought you were going to be MLG telling me that it was a technical impossibility to make an alloy from clingfilm.
  6. Interesting suit. Rare alloy of bacofoil and clingfilm if I'm not mistaken.
  7. I'm not in any way diminishing what others did during the war, many suffered terribly. I was simply making the point that if I had to choose between two bad options I'd rather be on a destroyer capable of 30 knots armed with sonar and depth charges than a 10 knot unarmed merchant loaded with ammunition.
  8. Agree totally. I cant understand why so many people buy a silver car with black or grey interior. Its so dull.
  9. My Dad was on the Arctic convoys to Murmansk and Arkangel at 15 having joined the merchant navy at 14. Horrific danger and conditions at any age, let alone his - and far worse in the merchant navy because they were the actual targets of the U boats, not the RN ships. There was a good Daily Mail article late last year. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2062529/Frozen-hell-As-PM-resists-campaign-medal-survivors-Britains-Arctic-convoys-tell-horrific-conditions-faced-World-War-II.html
  10. I notice your avatar is a pic of a great moment of Saints history. Not one of a nylon shirt and crap message. How disloyal.
  11. Im all for giving the stadium an identity, but they could easily put great pics up of players and great goals and moments from the ancient and recent history - as has been done in the concourse. Le Tissier chipping Schmeichal or Rickie with a mouth like a cats arse? End of Season pitch invasion with Hooiveld held aloft by the crowd, or JWP kissing some plastic? Tricky.
  12. You've got to be kidding. He's head, shoulders and knees taller than the crowd. The guy next to him must be on a box.
  13. Ooh. I loathe all that vacuous branding nonsense. Why couldnt they just put some good pictures of the players up without the badge kissing, moody faced carp? Its supposed to build affinity but it just turns me off, making my club look like another company trying to sell me something (yes I know they are really but...)
  14. Never trust an article which suddenly and randomly writes "Dr Oliver Wendt said: “There are maybe a number of reasons why we have decided to move to Reading" despite never mentioning him previously in the piece and leaving the reader with no idea who he is or why he's relevant.
  15. I ended up working from internet cafes and begging office space at friendly organisations for almost a month before BT reconnected my broadband. The Indian call centre repeatedly (supposedly) ran lines tests and told me there was noting wrong with it and implied I was stupid and didnt know how computers / broadband worked, despite having been their customer for over 10 years. Real head against a wall stuff over hours of calls. Eventually solved by suddenly getting through to a UK centre one night. After 10 minutes "ah yes, there is a fault at the exchange. It will be fixed within 24 hours" and it was about three hours later.
  16. Lol. That'll be good for next time we hit trouble for the 'Storm Clouds over St Mary's' story
  17. Good read but imo you should consider changing the name and look if you want to be more popular - its a little too obscure as it is. Note the other three finalists all 'do what it says on the tin' - there is little doubt what they're about. A picture of a bloke most people dont recognise, even if they both heard and remember the story from 16 years ago and also know Ali Dia was George Weah's Cousin (George Weah who he? for anybody under 25), doesnt grab the casual browser. Just my opinion but something obvious along the lines of 'Saints Alive' illustrated by a picture of SMS silhouetted against setting sun might do. If you feel you cant change the name now then at least change the picture to something more instantly recognisable as 'Saints'
  18. Maybe we want him to return to playing as a winger / LM. Thats certainly where we need more players.
  19. You stand by that Aintforever?
  20. Its not a bad shirt, but not very Saints. A bit more white and it would have been fine. I understand people not liking it, but the extremity is a bit OTT imo.
  21. Emotional diarrhoea and exotic hyperbole over a temporary shirt. Who'd have thunk it?
  22. Hmm. Six strikers, five left backs, two centre backs and one goalie.
  23. and dwarfs on the right.
