Really depends on what is important to you. I wanted a 14 inch smallish and light (1.8kg) reasonably specced machine and good battery life for doing work and watching dvds on occasional works trips and on holidays - its not used all day every day. The Acer I bought is perfect for that. If you are looking for a machine primarily used at home, you might go for smething bigger and more power hungry.

This. Your working life is maybe 40 years. So take the opportunity now and you can reap the benefits long after you've moved on to another job you wouldnt have got without taking this chance. MK isnt great, just like big areas of Southampton arent great, but you can easily live somewhere like Silverstone or Aylesbuy and commute in. Housing is a bit cheaper in MK too so if you did live in the town you could get a nicer place than Southampton.

Not exactly. I like it better when we win more obviously but I still went to a lot of games in the relegation seasons, its just that Im more likely to take my kids to something that has '4-0 to Saints and a big crowd' written all over it than 0-2 to Brentford in the rain. I'd rather see us at the top of league 1 or championship playing expansively and winning most games than on the back foot, being made to look second rate, in the bottom half of the table and getting beaten most weeks in the PL. Obviously if we were near the top of the PL getting CL football that would be okay too.......
