  1. Not sure it is the Highlands tbh. More like gentle dairy country. Nice but not dramatic though.
  2. You're simply doing what you accuse others of - taking one piece of evidence in isolation. Must try harder.
  3. So most of the country is moronic, but the bad scousers are just "a few". Think you need to look to your own logic Pap.
  4. I refer you to post 90.
  5. Because they consistently do things like boo the national anthem; get grant money for cruise terminal with conditions then disreagrd the conditions; (albeit historically) go on strike until the factories and docks close down then moan about unemployment. Derek Hatton etc. Liverpool has been a pain in the collective arse for generations. You say you like the independent spirit. Others say its just ****ing on the family picnic bonfire.
  6. I bought my first flat from the money earned working overtime at Mr Kiplings in Eastleigh because the Liverpool factory was always on strike. Sorry Pap, as individuals they may be great. As a city there is an odd belief that everyone else owes them something.
  7. It was even more random than that. Queen Anne died childless so her German second cousin got gifted the throne.
  8. Bit like you, wasnt really interested in going but when my Bro got married in Inverness I drove up from Glasgow to the wedding via Glencoe. Whole area is fantastic. The George in Inveraray is a great pub to stay in too. If you could do away with the midges which blight everything from (I think) about June onwards and the rain there wouldnt be anywhere better.
  9. Do you not read posts or just not comprehend them? My points have been that success now is almost exclusively down to have the largest total resources - whether they are gained from an owners munificence, attendances, tv income or whatever. If the Liebherrs put £1bn in to Saints in the next 5 years we will probably make CL just as Man City have done. If they put nothing additional in we won't.
  10. no. I reckon they should do better than league 2.
  11. Always surprised me why they havent done better over the years. Same with Bristol.
  12. Sources of income for EPL clubs in in 2009/10. If people can find more up to date data by all means post. http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2011/may/19/football-club-accounts-debt#data
  13. Thats my view too. Most of these slogans are just empty corporate style guff, or communitst era 'Forward on to Victory' ********.
  14. Im not getting into the ****ing contest. suffice to say the main source of income for most EPL clubs is Sky, by a long way. Currently the disparity in resources between clubs in the same league is at record highs - Man City and Chelsea have perhaps 7 or 8 times the income of Wigan and Swansea due to being artificially supported by their owners. If that support is genuinely abolished and the new tv deal continues to divide the money reasonably equally between the clubs then the difference between top and bottom will be much less, maybe a factor of 'only' two or three. An extra 10,000 or so on the gate is small beer compared with getting £37m from Sky even for the lowest placed club. If however the financial fair play regulations are easy to circumvent with nifty accounting and the new tv deal in 2013 decides to allocate most of the cash to the most successful clubs, as happens in most countries, the gulf between top and bottom will be so huge you might as well kiss goodbye to any sense at all of a 'competition' between clubs in the EPL.
  15. How far and how high Saints can go in the next five years has far more to do with how strictly the financial fair play regulations are implemented and what the terms are for the next tv deal than whether or not we have a 45,000 capacity ground.

This and this. Yes it makes no sense but it would be number 299 on my list of 300 things to worry about.
  17. Dog is my Grandson. The family ostracised him over the hamster, holdall and pet fun incident so TSW is a good way to keep contact with him and Squeaky.
  18. The club probably dont want any risk of one of the papers sending a photographer to get pics of ****ed players gambling and running a sensationalist story.
  19. I heard about something similar to that recently.
  20. Anyone know what percentage of total income ticket money makes up for the average prem club? Its obviously a lot less than in the championship, maybe 35% next season compared to maybe 80% this?
  21. Its okay coz Cortese will put next years parachute payment on black.
  22. Maybe it got into the public domain.
  23. and the return after seven years in the top division guess, as the whole region of Hampshire had thirsted after this success. ....well not quite the whole of Hampshire...
  24. Might just be a negotiating technique in order to bring the Chelsea Pitch Owners back to the table and accept what is offered (I never even knew the fans owned the freehold on Stamford Bridge). http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15481301
  25. Ive never seen England Scotland at their place. Whats the atmosphere with locals like?
