Or indeed if the $2.5bn the US gives them in direct military aid each year was in question.
-
Because only communist nations ever got by with the leading roles divided up and and no nominated leader.

Sure, anyone COULD do it. Not having a notional 'head' would make us look a bit weirdly hardline commie imo.
-
You need someone to do the meet and greet of visiting dignatories, handing out honours, opening new schools / hospitals etc.
-
Quite. Why people continue to respond to him is bizarre imo.
-
Yeah I know thats the fashionable mantra at the moment, but not true imo - and even if it were true its highly unlikely to happen. Lamberts been injured and/or out of form before and we got promoted from Lg1 and reached top of the championship. Guly has more open play goals than Lambert, Connolly is excellent, Lallana and Chaplow chip in with some, we've signed an international quality forward and at a pinch we've got Ward-Prowse. Should be enough to get us through 20 games.

Not me. Happy with what we have at the moment - all the same players who fired us to top of the league, and now supplemented by two promising attacking youngsters. Hooper now would be nice, but we can wait till the summer for a prem quality signing if necessary.

Better than ****ing the whole country to buy votes at election time.

Their opinions aren't solicited - they are briefed, big difference.

Welcome back Ho from me also. Last week has been totally expunged and forgotten. Got any free samples for my seven year old daughter?

Think you are missing the point Pap. No-one is saying they dont have personal convictions. The point is they dont express them, dont get to indulge them and arent elected on a platform of wanting to do x, y and Z in the way an elected Head of State would be - which in itself is divisive. They also take a long term view - not one eye on re-election and doing partisan things simply to keep 'your' electors sweet.

Pretty much the way I feel.

Unless he talks Hooper into coming to Saints of course....
-
I heard a Scottish version of talksport where three hosts were bemoaning the sate of scottish football and saying Aberdeen's star striker wanted to go to Bristol because the standard of footie was higher.

Who is this week's mystery signing?
buctootim replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Southampton want Jordan Rhodes http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/230798 Celtic, meanwhile, have yet to receive further contact from Southampton over top scorer Gary Hooper, insisting they will resist all approaches. Sportsmail understands the south-coast club are willing to go as high as £6.5million to land the 23-year-old and would likely double Hooper’s pay from £14,000 to £25,000 a week. Hooper’s new agent, Simon Dent, is seeking an extension and improved terms on his current deal at Parkhead.Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2088075/Celtic-want-sign-Jaroslaw-Fojut-early.html#ixzz1jlYGoymP NA tipped as possible successor to Wenger http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/sunsport_columnists/4067929/Steven-Howard-column-Nows-the-time-to-think-about-end-of-Wenger.html -

'Cant get Beckham, must sign Tevez' is a thought process I'm struggling with.

You earn 60p per week?

or Aaron Martin...

Anybody here feel strongly about antidisestablishmentarianism? (woo-hoo never had the chance to use the longest word in the English language in a real live sentence before).
-
Fair play, well argued.
-
Doh. Now you mention it, he is the only credible person with a reason to take the club on.

Heard the one about the joker, the pedant and the **** taker on the web forum?

not exactly big on details is it? http://www.southampton.gov.uk/s-environment/future/citycentre/Itchen-Riverside.aspx

Looks pretty clear cut to me. The lad is good enough to get into a good Championship side, but not yet ready for a starting place in a top four EPL side.
