Well thought of at Brighton. Did well with very little money or resources. Its stupid to accuse him arse licking/ false optimism etc. Its his job to make the players believe they can and should win the next game.
-
But as said - in the end we got £1m for a crocked Davies, and saved another c£800,000 on his wages - making us £1.8m up in exchange for paying maybe £450,000 to Pulis over three years. Still good business considering Davies has played about the same for Stoke as Pulis has for Saints.

No. I cant think of any circumstances where it would be wise for him to say anything publicly.

I heard a good argument the other day about foreigners coming over here and buying all the property. Cant recall where I was now - Provence, Dordogne, Brittany, Spanish Costas, Florida, Antigua - somewhere like that.

lol. The shops and ships are named after the idyllic life supposedly lead on Arcadia - an ideal world.

Washington Monument + Beavis + Butthead = Bergkamp in Soton. que?

I think he lost the plot in his final year. Made all kinds of claims that were later proved to not be true. Think he was good, had his head turned by the big time and ended up turning on a team who were giving their best (just not good enough for prem).

Im not sure its fair to blame Pardew for that.
-
Noticed that. If you compared the votes cast on Monday and Tuesday with those cast on Wednesday and Thursday they would give totally different results.

Of course you've met Les Reed, indeed must have known him since before he was appointed in April. Also weird that Charlton fans also appear to have positive things to say about him - very unlike what they say about Pardew. http://www.charltonlife.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=36533&page=1

I demand Cortese shares harmony with me.
-
I dont buy the continuing differences story. If Pardew was just a chronic and continuing irritation to Cortese, like the poster above said, he would have planned Pardews exit carefully and had someone in place ready to go.
-
Who knows, its all supposition. One example - Its quite possible that what was initially thought by Cortese to be an minor falling out at the training ground with a little bit of shoving, turned out after investigation to be a much wider net of dissatisfaction and unprofessional behaviour. The more he dug he realised it couldnt be sorted out by banging heads together.

I guess people tend to be more tight lipped before a decision is made as they dont want to end up being disciplined themselves. Also I guess those parties who were, allegedly 'wronged' by Pardew may well have been peed off by public support for him which has made them more keen to put the other side of the story out there.

The post said the incident happended whilst the memorial service for ML was being planned. The service happened on the 18th Aug, so lets say the incident was on Friday 13th (good as any) or Monday 16th. Pardew was sacked on the 29th. That makes the timeframe 13 days min or 16 days max. Thats a totally reasonable timeframe imo. In fact it hints at Cortese trying to find a way out of a disruptive sacking rather than jumping in all guns blazing.

To interview everybody at Staplewood in the aftermath of Liebherr's death, come to decision, negotiate with family who presumably are in mourning and with other things on mind, draw up termination agreement have disciplinary meeting with Pardew in a few days. Dont think so.
-
Because they felt the club were dealing with it properly?
-
Because you have to investigate allegations and be damn sure of your facts before you act.
-
ta,
-
Was he ****ed at training ala Burley? (allegedly)
-
Because they were planning to go as a management team?

There was speculation about this on the Charlton fans board. Reed got a lot of support and praise, Pardew was widely criticsed for having a huge ego, talking a good show and not delivering. Probably not fair, but then thats fans for you.
