Im not one for public outpourings of grief for people I dont know. When my girlfriend told me early Sunday morning that Princess Diana had died my first question was 'what time?' because I was planning a Sunday morning in bed with the papers and didnt want to read endless coverage about her. I didnt know her, nothing she had done had touched me personally, and tbh I didnt really respect her as a person. Markus Liebherr is different. He did something very good, noble even, which had a huge and direct impact on all Saints fans. Every member of this forum has benefitted and been touched by his actions. He saved the club and without him the club, team and this board would likely be no more. As an added bonus, he did it in an unassuming modest way, staying back from the limelight - and he died too young before he got to see the benefits of his efforts. So no, the reactions on this board aren't over the top. He deserved no less.

The Telegraph are hilarious. Totally different slant on profits depending on whether its a company reporting them in the business pages, or workers asking for a cost of living rise. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/transport/7279920/BAA-profits-boost.html

Maybe Gaydamaks land is important because you would need access over it in an emergency evacuation of the ground.

BAA staff are in a totally different position to BA. BAA staff are pretty poorly paid and the company will make £900mn profit this year on turnover of only £2bn. The 10,000 staff (security, firemen etc) had a wage freeze last year and have lost bonuses - yet BAA made a profit of £90,000 per employee. I reckon they can afford to pay £18,000pa security staff 3% cost of living. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/transport/7279920/BAA-profits-boost.html

Mine was £600 last year, although that was just buying, not selling as well. Whatever work she has done so far should be in a position to be taken over by someone else. Why not speak to another solicitor to find out if they are prepared to take it on. I used these guys and they were good, and theyre local to you http://www.odt.uk.com/

Little reminder here of just what a difference he made. A fine tribute. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/jun/25/southampton-staff-not-paid

I think a link to whatever crap is posted is fair enough. I dont think theres any need to cut and paste into this forum at this time though.
-
Actually mate, personally I dont want to see that kind of crap. Id expect to see it on a pompey forum but dont think its appropriate on here.

Seems to me he was a private, unassuming man. Maybe something very simple like leaving his seat in the directors box permanently empty would be the way to go.

edited out of respect. Bristolsaint is right. RIP Markus. Thanks for giving thousands the chance to dream again.

Jeez. RIP Markus. You've left an enduring legacy.

Your posts are never quite as informed or as smart as you try to portray. The idea that papers are read by 2.6 people on average is a total fallacy dreamt up by the NMA, and youve fallen for it. The papers dont compete on this figure because it is no-ones interest to do so, claiming more readership sells more advertising. The Audited Bureau of Circulation are the only figures which count - and the Sun has an average of 2.9 million and falling. http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=1&storycode=45444&c=1 I get the Times delivered every day. Im the only person in my household who reads it. In fact I only read it 4 or 5 times a week. So for every household like mine (0.6 readers per copy) you would have us believe there is another household where 5 people read a single copy.
-
Lol. These are figures from the Newspaper Marketing Agency - the PR body funded by the newspapers to say nice things about newspapers. Readership of the Sun is nowhere near 8m, circulation is less than 3 million - including all bulk distribution -ie freebies given away. The Mirror is cutting around 200 editorial jobs including six of the current ten staff photographers. All papers will be relying increasingly on third party sources of pictures.
-
Quite. Has the Sun gone ape yet because people are now charging for what used to be free, plus everybody should be able to have access?. No thought not.

Dang. She's one HPOA!

You've got to wonder, given the kinds of grounds and pitches Saints will be visiting this season, whether roughing it a bit wouldnt actually do them some good.
-
No i mean the one where trolling, Nazi, former talk to myself minor forum admins dont dominate the board with negativity, along with just four or five other maladjusted social misfits. You ****ed up your site Tristram and you must be gratified with the progress youre making on this one.
-
Its getting to that stage. Im starting to wonder where a good Saints fans site is.

Probably the funniest thing I've seen in ages!

Have you noticed they've coloured in (no racism intended) the number 5's arms and legs. He was pink in the original but has gone back to brown now! -
Force. Power. Courage according to google translate, which normally mangles about the same as babelfish, but actually sounds as though it could be right this time.

Maybe Saints need a structure like many top companies have - a young dynamic and pushy CEO advised by an older, experienced and more cautious Chairman. I like a great deal of what Cortese has done, but on the face of it this isnt the best. -
Im no mechanic either, but I used to have a Peugeot 406 which had a wiring fault caused by water leaking into the car (never did find exactly where problem was) which caused an intermittent drain on the battery. Sometimes the car would start fine after 10 days sometimes dead within 48 hours. Either that on what Swanny said about the alternator.
