BBC Solent in breaking news 5 weeks after it was originally announced shocker....

@officialpompey: Bring your old and unwanted mobiles on Saturday! Collection boxes in the Megastore, Chimes reception and Victory bar! http://t.co/lctYjKfk

So now it's "£4m in the bank"...that's a pretty heft interest rate they've got over there....up £1m in 24 hours! I'd like to know who they bank with to get that kinda rate...
-
@pn_neil_allen: Another excellent article from @blueballoo2000 well worth a read for #Pompey fans. Spot on. Again. http://t.co/EHvtQaa1

I'm getting progressively worried that I've picked the wrong time to head off on a two week holiday. Would be slightly ironic to put a lifetime's worth of work into this masterpiece of a thread only to miss the moment they finally go 'pop'.... That said, what are the chances that I'll be visiting the ruined city of Pompeii on the very same day...? Now THAT would be poetic.... I would lava that...

Gerald Vernon-Jackson, Portsmouth’s council leader, said: “I fear the players will be greedy and chop off their noses to spite their faces.” Greedy? GREEDY?! What, having already given up a significant percentage of what they're already owed you now want them to give up another 75% to avoid labelling them "greedy". FFS....I know it's a well worn cliche but you truely couldn't make any of this sh*t up if you were locked in a room with J.K. f***ing Rowling for 3 years.

Give us a chance (FFS)! Packing the car for my drive down to Italy tomorrow. Some things are more important that this pesky thread y' know..... (ok, I made that last bit up...)
-
@pn_neil_allen: The sun is shining, the birds are singing and #Pompey set to sign 10 players before Bournemouth match. A rare good news day! More later.
-
@jezatron: seeing as loads of scummers are trolling #pompey posts... le tissier was average & fat... just looked ok playing with a bunch of turdburgers

Here we go again... @pn_neil_allen: RT @joemichalczuk: Any I urge every Pompey fan who can afford it does the same - there is no other option for the survival of PFC ...the Pompey public bring asked to poor good money after bad. In fact, they'd be paying twice given that the council has already committed their council tax. Just do the intellectual thing and start over again. You can then plough the "millions" that you've raised into yielding the club up from the roots rather than chasing after yet more debt. Sigh.

Them too

Life's a distraction

So, does that mean the players who have left as heros are now temporarily villains again? Shouldn't a certain local journalist be out there hounding and intimidating them again by now? Time is afterall very short...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19273525 Hmmm....When are these people going to realise that it's blindly believing everything they've been told over the last five years that has got them into this mess in the first place...?

Tories out!

Congratulations to Bearsy....I see he has thread locking privileges now... I thought there might have been an announcement about his appointment though.

The trouble is, I'm sure the Trust still see it as a fallback option rather than the first-choice option. Clinging onto the old carcass won't solve any problems in the long run. The clever move for the Trust now would be to advise Birch to put the old club to sleep and start a new one but the fans have never seen it that way so I can't see them taking the initiative on this one. But, of course, if/when it does happen I'm sure we'll hear someone declare "it's what we really wanted all along"...

It's PTS FFS! PST is the Pompey Supporters Trust.

I've been thinking the same thing....this signing of a "non-contract" malarkey sounds like a bit of an oxymoron to me....another loophole for Pompey (and other clubs in trouble) to exploit me thinks. It feels a bit like when you're losing at Monopoly and you start mortgaging everything under the sun to pay for landing on Mayfair....just before you land on Income Tax after passing GO... *(yes, I know, paying a tax bill is a bad example to use in Pompey's case)

14:12

Jordan : And Brian Howard is the triallist you guys want to see sign the most

In other words, the one that would probably cost the most.....no change there then.....
