  1. Yay. A proper seat booking system at last.
  2. Just watched the Green sending off for the first time. It's still a red card for me. Yes, there was another West Ham player close by but, if Green had charged out and missed the Blackpool player, instead of chopping him down, then I'm pretty convinced the West Ham defender wouldn't have got back in time to stop the ensuing shot from the Blackpool player, ergo Green's action stopped as near as damn it a certain goal. But there again, what do I know?
  3. No comment
  4. @bigadamsport: Interesting move from #pompey administrator . £5 off Leeds game tomorrow OR £5 off B'ham game if you've already bought. Will it pay off?...
  5. Yep, she (partly) won her case in the European court a while back, but today's development is that this has now been ratified by the High Court over here. Adds another layer of significance I would have thought?
  6. I assume West Ham fans have now retracted their call for Kelvin Davis to be sent off against them for a far more innocuous challenge?
  7. Would be just our luck for the bottom to fall out of the Sky TV money if/when we get back to the Premier League. Or is this just a storm in a tea cup...? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17150054 24 February 2012 Last updated at 10:58 Pub TV football landlady Karen Murphy wins in court A pub landlady has won her court fight with the English Premier League over using a Greek TV decoder to screen games. Karen Murphy has paid nearly £8,000 in fines and costs for using the cheaper decoder in her Portsmouth pub to bypass controls over match screening. But she took her case to the European Court of Justice (ECJ). It found partly in her favour, and now the High Court in London has also found in her favour. Ms Murphy has spent six years fighting a prosecution for showing live football at the Red White and Blue pub without a Sky subscription.
  8. And every now and then up pops a voice of reason....
  9. Now, if only I could remember where I left my facepalms....
  10. I've noticed today that they've introduced a 'medium' setting on the videos so now they have "low", "medium" and "high". Not sure if that's a sign that they've upped the quality of the "high" setting...?
  11. I'm onto the kit man's son as we speak. Will update people shortly.
  12. Sniff, sniff... is that the smell of coffee over yonder....? @pn_neil_allen: Appleton criticises lack of #Pompey communication. Interesting stuff. http://t.co/HnfGB7z0
  13. I can feel their moist lapping tongue in my ear
  14. Close. Very close... ;-)
  15. @pn_neil_allen: Appleton believes he had been kept in the dark by Lampitt over the extent of #Pompey transfer embargo. Made discovery after FL talks.
  16. I assume they've got a link to here? (for some light bedtime reading)
  17. Actually, I've changed my mind. Yep, let's give the job to an Italian company on the back of a promise to outsource much of the work to the UK. Afterall, the Italians are great at running a national economy so building a few boats 'on time, on budget' should be child's play for our European cousins... Sigh.
  18. How many times do I have to tell you? Stop reading that bloody right wing tripe of a rag! FFS.
  19. @solentsport: Antonov defends Portsmouth record: Former Portsmouth owner Vladimir Antonov defends his time at Fratton Park, bl... http://t.co/dGmnF7RL
  20. Neither. It was a "there goes yet another headline grabbing OP jumping to conclusions in order to have a dig at the government without researching the background" kinda facepalm. I'd recommend getting some 'putting words in people's mouths' training from Verbal. His success rate is 30% and improving. ;-)
  21. Looking at my search history over the last 2 years or so, I'm dreadfully worried Google will have me down as a Pompey fan...
  22. What's happened to the HMRC football creditors court case. Wasn't that supposed to be happening this month some time?
  23. It's amazing how some actual facts and knowledge can transmogrify an irrational knee-jerk discussion into a measured and rational one....
  24. His blase attitude to HMRC debt is more despicable than even our neighbour's....and I never thought I'd hear myself say that. This attitude stinks: ID: How close were we to going out of business? DS: Well, if we hadn’t put money in we’d been out of business. And that’s what people fail to understand. If you owed the money to the Inland Revenue you could go into administration, give them 20p in the Pound, which Rangers will do on the drip and then come back. The problem with West Ham is that the money is owed to Sheffield United and other football clubs, so they are football debts and administration doesn’t get you out of those. The banks have a charge over the ground, the training ground, over everything. So even if you go into administration that isn’t lost. So administration wouldn’t clear the debts of the club. Even if it was for the benefit of the club, even if we lost our shares, if we could get out of all that debt, we would go into administration. But you’d only get rid of 20% of your debts, not the 80% which are football debts, or debts charged against the football club, the ground – every asset of the club they’re charged against.
