Keep them on the line as long as possible. After about 10 minutes say: "Ok, I've got what I need". They say: "What's that?". You say: "The police installed a call tracer on my line a couple of weeks ago and it takes up to 10 minutes to track down the source of the call. It's just tracked you down and the police and/or Interpol will be contacting you shortly"
Funnily enough, I don't get as many of these calls as I used to...
Or, perhaps another football analogy, but closer to home....
If Trevor Birch saves Pompey from extinction but they end up getting relegated in the process, the outcome, whilst undesireable, is still better than the worst case scenario (if you happen to be a Pompey supporter that is). Ergo Birch should get a suitable perfomance related 'reward'.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of anyone on here sad enough to start threads on a football forum (on the internet) about problems they are having with their cards. Saints fans are pragmatic and rational people and would take such gripes up directly with the ticket office rather than rant about it on here.
Obviously.
Look. I'm getting fed up with people delving beneath sensationalist headlines to come up with rational analysis of situations. This has got to stop otherwise we'll have nothing to rant about.
FFS
It also inherently re-introduces the concept of a membership system to all intents and purposes:
"With the introduction of both systems this will in turn allow the club to introduce a loyalty point scheme for the new season. This will entitle fans to obtain loyalty points on their Saints related purchases, which will provide all supporters the opportunity to obtain priority service and opportunities for high profile matches and events in the future."
Sounds promising.
