Laugh out loud on commuter train moment!

My thoughts entirely. The compensation scheme exists to protect clubs who have spent money on bringing academy players through the ranks. I smell yet another 'bending the rules' rat with this one.

Linky thingy? Missed that one. Cheers

Looking back to March.... http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/893963-nathaniel-clyne-close-to-penning-shock-manchester-united-deal Metro understands that United are currently putting the finishing touches to a pre-contract agreement for Clyne, that would see him join the Red Devils when his Palace contract expires in the summer, ending a six month pursuit for one of the Championship's brightest prospects. United have been following Clyne ever since he broke into the Palace first-team at the age of 17, and made their move in January when the 20-year-old indicated he would not be signing a new deal at Selhurst Park. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson was confident he could get his man, only for the player's agent to pull the plug on a switch to Old Trafford at the last minute, believing better terms would be offered as a free agent in the summer. The decision annoyed Ferguson, but he has maintained an interest, and after instructing United chief executive David Gill to resurrect a transfer last week, he now looks like finally landing the England Under-21 youngster, with pre-contract talks ongoing. As Clyne is under the age of 23, Palace will be eligible for training compensation from United, but with the Premier League champions fearing lengthy negotiations and even a tribunal to decide an amount, they will offer £2.5 million straight up in the hope a deal can be sorted out quickly. Palace are likely to accept that bid, safe in the knowledge that they almost sold Clyne for £250,000 in 2010, when club administrators accepted the derisory offer from Wolves amid financial meltdown. Clyne eventually snubbed the offer to stay and help the club avoid relegation, but with his stock continuing to rise, he will finally head north this summer, joining United's growing collection of exiting English talent.

Jesus. Don't they know it's now page 8 on here FFS?
-
If/when they enter a stalemate situation (if they're not at that stage already), I'm assuming the 'key' date becomes the moment that PKF become exposed to debt that the liquidation proceeds wouldn't cover, at whcih point Birch will be duty bound to pull the plug. I've no idea how far down the road that last gasp moment is though. Days? Weeks? Months?

Apologies in advance as I'm sure this question has already been asked before but can't find it.... Do the new shirts come up the same size as last season's shirts? Thanks

Ah, ok - cheers. Bang goes another Trousers conspiracy theory....

Have Pompey started recruiting already....? http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/business/local-business/unemployment-totals-fall-again-1-4066392

Portsmouth FC @officialpompey Marko Futacs joins Leicester with #Pompey receiving compensation: http://tinyurl.com/c9tugna Does this mean you can offer an under 24 year old player a 'derisory' deal, that he's bound to turn down, as a way of securing compensation? (of course, I'm not for one minute suggesting that Pompey engineered such a situation....just being hypothitcal....obviously)
-
I can't allow you to whisk the credit for initially posting this theory from under Mr DP's feet. Credit where credit's due (unless you happen to be Pompey of course - steer well clear of giving them credit of any shape or form....)

Or so they say..... nudge, nudge, wink, wink.....

Did Birch ever unearth the documentary proof that Chainrai had legally secured his loan against the ground? (I'm going back to February time now where Birch called into question the potential legality of Chainrai's claim). Maybe Birch still has an ace up his sleeve for when Chainrai decides to throw in the towel....?
-
I've been mulling over the same theory....it does fit the current situation quite nicely doesn't it? I've even stretched my imagination to suspect that other parties might be 'in on it' too... The FL? HMRC? Local politicians? Local media? The players themselves? The potential colluders list is almost endless...

Is that an ITK wink?
