You mean we haven't watered the pitch overnight in the hope of it being called off to avoid unnecessary expense?
-
Who are "they"? (apologies if I've missed some obvious context earlier in the thread)
-
I'll be back in a moment.....just off to check my Aunt's genitalia just in case it turns out she's actually my Uncle....

So, West Ham will end up having two games in hand over us in just over a week's time.... Here's hoping we've built a bit of a gap in that time otherwise they will be sitting very pretty (i.e. top, or thereabouts, with 2 games in hand) This COULD turn into a big psychological advantage for them....(likewise for us if we win our next three games!)
-
A good read. Cheers
-
Very true. Win the next 2 games and we're back where we belong :-)

West Ham game postponed
-
Hmmm, not sure I like that. They will be rested for our game with them on Tuesday now. That said, we could go into the game riding high on the back of a 4-0 win against Burnley...you heard it here first...

As the saying goes...."You couldn't make it up"

"All" bases covered....one assumes that includes ongoing surveillance of internal HMRC emails then...? Why oh why have the press not picked up on that?
-
Why does nothing surprise me on this thread anymore...?

@pn_neil_allen: To all 1,255 #Pompey fans at Blackpool tomorrow. Time for the fight back. A protest is planned. Let everyone know! http://t.co/kWdjow7A RT

Ok, but I can do 2009 for you....
-
Only Pompey could use the weather to help stave off bad news....
-
So, if the Football League had their wits about them and/or the referee had filed a report to say that if measures x,y and z had been taken the game could have gone ahead, then wouldn't they be liable to some kind of fine or suchlike...? Or is this a case of the FL sweeping the problem under the carpet....? edit: and why did they go to the trouble of printing the programmes if they had intended 'engineering' a postponement? (unless of course the pictures we saw of two programmes were simply pre-print run mock-ups....nah, can't be true....)

I once toyed with the idea of voting Labour. Mental.
-
Do you mean that the pitch WAS playable but the ref gave them the choice to call it off....? Or do you mean they could have played it from a financial perspective but were simply happy that the weather gave them a fortunate respite from additional costs? Sorry for possibly being thick but when I first read what you wrote there it came across as the club had called it off due to the weather rather than the referee (or rather they had put pressure on the ref to call it off)

You gotta love those inciteful and indepth Daily Star articles! :-)

Someone should give Money Penny a call....she has access to internal HMRC memos.... Actually, in all seriousness, how come the UK press have seemingly glossed over Penny's access to internal HMRC correspondence? Perhaps it's not illegal after all...?
