Looking at the examples on here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administration_(British_football) , clubs only seem to get 'extra' penalty points if they eithr fail to exit administration by the start of the next season or if their owner are found guilty of financial irregularities. So, perhaps there isn't actually any 'extra' penalty for entering administration more than once as long as you exit administration (each time) in a timely fashion (i.e. have an agreed, rather than fulfilled, CVA)?

@joshooiveld20: @billysharp10 yes remember the tall guy you couldn't get passed.. You might have thought he was a new passingmidfield signing but it wasn't.

Maybe....but you just know that a certain someone will find enough major creditors to squeeze out HMRC....again....

@joshooiveld20: Back in full training now, nice to be with the squad again. Legs feel good.

"Michael Appleton has admitted he is prepared for Pompey to go into administration. The News understands that debenture holder Balram Chainrai is close to carrying out the action. The move would put off the HMRC winding-up petition hearing scheduled for Monday, February 20 but would see Pompey hit with a points deduction. It would also be the second time Chainrai has put Pompey into administration. And Appleton today said Pompey must get ready for the scenario."

http://www.taylorwalton.co.uk/blog/high-noon-at-portsmouth/ High Noon at Portsmouth Published by Taylor Walton Admin (February 9th, 2012) Just when you thought Pompey had gone through every cliche….just like buses, another is sure to come along. Following last years’ Administration of Convers Sports Initiatives Plc (CSI) (if not before) the hunt was on for a new owner of Pompey. The Chairman (and Stakeholder in the Club’s parent company) stepped down and then, whilst continuing to try and sell the Club, on 3 January 2012, Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC) sought to wind up the Club seeking £1.6 million in tax. This changed everything, especially the efforts to sell the Club. As of the 3rd January, every disposition by the Clubs directors between then and the hearing on 20th February is deemed void by s.127 of the Insolvency Act1986, unless the Club pays off HMRC or gets rid of the Winding up petition. The winding up is not just a test for the Clubs owners. It is also a test for its secured creditors, Portpin Limited. If the secured creditors want to maintain the current value of their “claim” they must either pay to get rid of the winding up petition or sell to a new owner (whose job it would be to get rid of the Petition without triggering Administration). As an aside; even if the Club or Portpin Limited or a new buyer were to pay off this petitioner (HMRC) why would they pay though the nose to do so? If that miracle was to happen and HMRC were paid off, the Club would likely avoid any point deduction from this winding up procedure but that still leaves the threat of a points deduction following the Administration of the Club’s parent company CSI Remember what was reported at the time about the possibility of a points deduction ? That issue has yet to be resolved. The various machinations at Pompey over the last two years have not changed two central points: 1. The Debenture over Portsmouth City Football Club, currently registered to a British Virgin Island company named “Portpin Ltd”, has meant that who ever controlled Portpin’s debenture, effectively controlled the fate of Pompey. 2. The second “truth” is that despite its financial difficulties Pompey has had a variety of people whom have wanted to own the shares and invest money into the Club to keep it trading – unfortunately they appear to have lost their shirts. The latest is Mr Vladimir Antonov, stakeholder in CSI (In Administration). The Administrators of CSI were also the Administrators of Pompey when it was last in Administration. Oh, the latest cliches? Well first there were the prospective buyers manoeuvres, as seen on the BBC webite along with my analysis of “Where Does Pompey Go Now?” via BBC Radio Solent and TalkSport Radio. Finally an honourable mention to those Tweeters who use #Pompey Then there was the unpaid players and ground staff And finally, the last minute validation application [i am sure that will be along any minute] The Winding up Petition means that Portpin Ltd, owners of the Debenture over Pompey now have two choices. One of these involves getting off the pot and selling the club. Question is, with such a traumatic (and potentially expensive) recent history, still fresh in their minds, who would now want to take Mr Antonov’s [CSI] place as Pompey’s unsecured but very generous benefactor; buying this struggling club but without also asking to take the place of the Debenture holder ? The date of the hearing is set for 20th February at the Companies Court in London. If the Debenture owners don’t act before “High Noon” then Portsmouth’s Football Club will very likely cease to exist on that day. What next? If the Debenture holders are holding out they may want to consider what happens if judgement in the case of the “Football Creditors Rule” comes in early, say before the 20th February?………… but more on that in my next blog Guy Thomas a partner at Taylor Walton LLP is an Insolvency Lawyer with a specialism in Football Finance.

Agree. We've had far too much of this recently.... -
Redknapp today: "I've not thought about the England job" No, Harry, of course you haven't. For it to cross your mind would be totally unnatural.....sigh....

Hmmm.....another 'slight of hand' to ensure their available squad is small enough to warrant 'emergency' signings...?

Look, I'm trying to squirm my way out of spelling baffoon (sic) incorrectly. I don't think anyone has noticed yet so if we both ignore it I'm sure I'll get away with it... -
@jordansibley: Adkins backs Pearce for England job and when asked about his 40/1 price at the bookies "I'd keep your money in your pocket!" #saintsfc

Ken just edging it IMO.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-16955851 Ken Livingstone in Tory 'riddled with homosexuals' row Conservative MPs have called for Labour's candidate for London mayor to apologise for saying their party is "riddled" with homosexuals. Ken Livingstone said some Tory MPs denounce homosexuality while secretly "indulging". He later refused to apologise saying the remark was meant to be humorous and a "backhanded compliment". But two Tory MPs have written to Labour leader Ed Miliband calling on him to ensure the remarks are retracted. Discussing the issue of privacy in an interview in the New Statesman magazine, Mr Livingstone said: "[The public] should be allowed to know everything, except the nature of private relationships - unless there is hypocrisy, like some Tory MP denouncing homosexuality while they are indulging in it." Asked why he referred particularly to Conservative MPs, he added: "Well, the Labour ones have all come out. "As soon as Blair got in, if you came out as lesbian or gay you immediately got a job. It was wonderful. "You just knew the Tory party was riddled with it, like everywhere else is." He also said in the interview that Baroness Thatcher was "clinically insane" while prime minister. On Thursday, Mr Livingstone defended himself on LBC radio, saying the Conservatives used to be "horrendously homophobic", but acknowledged that is no longer the case. "It was a slightly backhanded compliment," he said.

@pn_neil_allen: Etuhu future out of #Pompey hands. http://t.co/Xg87CPza Michael Appleton has admitted Kelvin Etuhu’s Pompey future is in the hands of the Football League. The former Manchester City midfielder has impressed since arriving as a free agent last month. Appleton had thought he had signed the 23-year-old on a deal until the end of the season, with an option for another 12 months. However, the Football League insisted the deal must be a month-by-month arrangement. It means their approval is required each month to extend Etuhu’s stay. His initial deal is up on February 20 – the same day as Pompey’s winding-up court hearing. And Appleton is desperate for the go-ahead to keep him at Fratton Park. He said: ‘Apparently Kelvin is for an initial month – and that was due to the Football League more than us. Kelvin himself would have liked to have signed a proper deal until the end of the season and so would we. ‘But due to where we are with the Football League and what we can and can’t do, we have to submit it month-by-month and they assess it month-by-month. ‘I can only go by what I am being told. ‘I can’t see there being a problem. ‘He’s here at the minute – he has been around the club for three months – and I don’t think we are breaking rules. ‘I don’t think we are gaining any advantage whatsoever. ‘We lost a player in Hermann Hreidarsson to Coventry and replaced him with someone like Kelvin, who certainly isn’t getting any more in terms of finance. ‘He is very dynamic, quick, strong and has played a lot of football in wide areas. ‘Whether he plays there or centrally I think you have a seen a glimpse of what he’s going to bring to the football club. ‘We want to keep him as long as we can.’ Appleton currently possesses just 17 senior players in his squad. He can ill-afford the possibility of being blocked from retaining Etuhu. Yet the Football League are maintaining close scrutiny on club finances during these worrying times. Even with the departure of Ryan Williams, league chiefs have refused to give the green light to a replacement. For the smallest squad in the Football League, it’s going to be another gruelling battle. Appleton added: ‘This is a part of the season where you need to look after your players, especially one with such a small squad and the age of which they are. ‘In February and March you have got to be really careful with the players and make sure you have got eagle eyes. ‘That is a time where you need to look after them and make sure they don’t blow up – like last season.’
