I've a feeling the Tories might just stick with Labour's policy between 1997 and 2010 on this one. If the significant widening of the gap between rich and poor was good enough for Labour I'm sure it won't bother the Tories too much either.
People with an IQ akin to Keith Chegwin's getting sucked in by the ever increasing commercialisation and Americanisation of Christmas?
Still, at least the chaps in the Coca Cola marketing department will be getting a nice Christmas bonus on the back of such public gullibility....
Merry Christmas one and all...bah...
Not forgetting those people for whom commenting on a football forum about those "watching minor celebrities shrieking at eating a beetle is all they have in life" is all they have in life too.
We don't need to sign anyone 'high-ish profile'. If we get injuries we can simply tap into our development squad. We've got excellent players in the 16 - 19 year old bracket who are champing at the bit to get a look in.
Adkins has proven that he can get the best put of players by focusing on the way we okay as a team and as a squad - it's not about individuals.
@jordansibley: On the bench for Saints today: Bialkowski, Schneiderlin, Barnard, Martin and De Ridder. Connolly & Harding miss out through injury #saintsfc
Blimey. Most of SWF in agreement (about the principle of people doing "something useful" to earn their benefit payment.)
I am equally sceptical though as to the motives of Tesco et al.
If 'we' (society) could prove that the roles these companies are allocating to job seekers are indeed "extra" nice-to-have type tasks that they wouldn't employ someone to do (none such tasks spring to mind) then I would see it as a good thing.
If, however, they are simply replacing 'minimum wage' employees with job seekers then that is at best self defeating and at worst morally wrong.
They'll make a socialist out of me yet!
