Martin Samuel has another dig at Cortese in his column today: "Get rid of Pardew at your Peril" He says: "The clever money says that Pardew will go...and Cortese will appoint the yes-man coach that he wants, probably from abroad." Can't see Hughes being lined up if there is any truth in Samuel's hypothesis.

Why would the footballing manager (Pardew) order a recall due to an advertising dispute? Wouldn't that be the job of head of marketting or such like? And if markus's absence is so inoccuous a reason, why not mention it briefly in the post match os report? Dunno

I can't believe there isn't one person in SWF land who hadn't seen or got a copy and can't repeat here what might have caused the need for a recall. If we have agents on the ground who know when we're about to buy an oil rig surely we have someone on this case...?

I'm still surprised that people feel they can answer the question posed categorically without knowing what the alternative(s) may or may not be. If the question was: cortese has lined up Kevin Keegan, do you want Pardew to stay? My answer would be "no" If the question was: cortese has lined up an average run of the mill manager , do you want Pardew to stay? My answer would be "yes" Ask yourself the same two questions (replacing "kevin keegan" with a manager of your choice whom you believe would be a better option than Pardew) and see if you get the same answer.
