  1. But that's how human beings typically debate stuff and form opinions. It's perfectly reasonable for someone to form different opinions of the same scenario depending on who the subject matter is. For example, if I heard that Michael Winner had been chucked out of a restaurant for complaining my opinion of the situation would be different had it been my mother being thrown out of the restaurant even though the 'scenario' was broadly the same. It's quite often the perceived way someone goes about the same task not the task or scenario itself that shapes observational opinions. It's human nature to form opinions with an element of bias. Doesn't make it right of course but that's how we've evolved as a species. Charles Darwin, April 1874 p.s. Before I get jumped on, none of the above pre-supposes my opinion of the situation raised in the OP. Just purely observational twaddle
  2. This +1 And trading standards. And Offtel (or whatever they are called these days)
  3. And Wolves....?
  4. He popped by at 08:54 today ;-) Edit: ah, twonk Trousers....I assumed Alpine was talking about Weston Saint's pre-season 'absence' from this 'ere forum! doh,....
  5. Depends on interpretation. For example, I could be 100% sure that my wife has left me but not totally sure which bloke she has left me for. Quite possibly a good analogy.....?
  6. Not necessarily. For example, I could be 100% sure that my wife has left me but not totally sure which bloke she has left me for. Quite possibly a good analogy.....?
  7. Subtitles?
  8. Which is why (one assumes) that this thread hasn't reached 67 pages yet.....too much of a good news story.... Great stuff Hamster - good luck with this venture.
  9. Who?
  10. Quite the opposite I'd venture. The fact that Forecast hasn't been 'promoted' to the No.13 slot suggests that they are confident that Bart will re-sign

    This +1
  12. It wasn't an oversight type of omission because they put up a sentence at the end of the original article saying "David Connolly is yet to be allocated a squad number" (or words to that effect). So this must now mean that we've got a new high profile No.8 coming in very soon then.....

  14. And, unlike some, our quoting technique is top drawer..... ;-)
  15. Possibly, although I'd have expected to see Forecast 'promoted' to the No.13 slot if Bart was definately off
  16. Maybe one of the "marquee" signings we've spoken to has said...."I'll sign for you at a reduced wage cost but I want the number 8 shirt as a token gesture in return from SFC"....and they're just waiting for the transfer to be confirmed (or dropped) before giving Connolly the number 8 if it falls through? Perhaps.
  17. If that's the case (and I have no evidence to dispute it one way or t'other) then why not just buy a Swiss club and make his life a bit easier travel wise? I can't help believe that it's a combination of "boys toys" and the Premier League pot of gold (if we get there before that particular bubble bursts of course....)
  18. That's torn it....cue another 14 pages of "Cortese's a control freak" ;-)
  19. Sorry, didn't mean to imply you would have reacted too. I agree that, sadly, there will always be people that can't rise above such provocation.
  20. Always? It wouldn't have sparked a reaction in me. I'd have risen above it personally. :-)
  21. He's a footballer but that's not important right now.
