Did they introduce 'austerity' just because they wanted to (ideologically) or because they felt they had to (in order to deal with the consequences of the 2008 financial crisis)? (I'm not trying to make a party political point here, just interested in what the underlying motivation/driver might have been for 'austerity', even if, according to those with a different philosophy, it wasn't necessary)

Actually, in all seriousness, what is the typical "market rate" for stadium sponsorship these days? Given the FFP shackles we seem to be in for this season, surely it'll be worth doing a stadium sponsorship deal of some kind, even if it only raises enough funds for one new player, say?
