The official 'how long can it take to say nothing' thread
trousers replied to eelpie's topic in The Saints
Just to clarify, was the bee travelling in the same direction as the Earth's rotation about its axis, or in the opposite direction? Thanks -
Our team need all the training they can get. They've all had 5 weeks off. Plenty IMO. So, yes, they can "win"....simply get them all in for training for the 'extra' week, not just the tubby ones.

I see what you did there....not that anyone ever suspected Nineteen Canteen was Madness fan Lord Marland of Odstock, of course....

Car Park? St Mary's?

Those who fail the fitness test will have to do an extra week's training. Those who pass will get a week off.... Come again? They should all be in training after last season's performances. Another week off? Good grief.

I'd love, really love it, it if that was the case

Scrutinising people's posts with a fine-toothed comb alert.... Is that a genuine "ITK" wink or a "reading between the lines 2+2" wink?

Agree, but knowing who the owner is, or at least what field they ply their trade in, will help put any future decision making into context. For example, if our man is in the steel industry and the price of steel plummets and his fortune goes to the wall we will be better placed to understand a lack of investment in the future than if we know sod all about them. I'm simply saying that it would be in the owner's interests to at least reveal some of their background so that the very people keeping one of their investments (SFC) up and running, i.e. the fans, can understand the context of any decision making. Fans are more likely to 'revolt' against any "tough but necessary" financial decisions if there isn't an element of transparency in the process. Of course, this is all supposition and assumption that 'our man' won't ereveal anything about himself next week....

Indeed. It does (mildly) amuse me that people are implying that anyone would act any differently to the way Wotte has conducted himself in the media. What other way is there to act in his position? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying his words and actions are anything other than sincere or genuine, just that one wouldn't expect any employee of any company in his/their position to act any differently, whether they were sincere or not.

Absolutely. I'm just jumping on the prevailing bandwagon this week

what happens if Pinacle/MLT retain Wotte as manager
trousers replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
When I left my previous job it took me several weeks/months to stop saying "we" when talking about my ex-company, so I wouldn't read too much into it personally. -

How are you defining 'support'? Conditionally or unconditionally? Cheers -
I'm sure the Football League are interested in why the Football Club board are so inconspicuous.....

Agree with NC here. Fast forward to December when we haven't won a game for weeks....MLT and/or Tony Lynham announce that the mystery owner has decided he doesn't want to throw more money at new players in the January window...what will the reaction from fans be? Not knowing who the money man is will mean that fans will be unable to put the owner's motives into context and thus there is large potential for fan frustration if the man behind the money isn't available for constructive scrutiny by his 'customers'....

David Jones and Ken Tointon (as announced by Fry at his first press conference as administrator at the beginning of April)
-
Why is Wotte the only member of the current Football Club management team that has spoken to the media since the Football Club's holding company went into administration at the beginning of April? Why hasn't the Football Club board (Tointon or Jones) uttered a single word for over two months? The Football Club is supposed to be running on a BAU basis until it is sold off as an asset of the holding company. Why isn't it acting as such? (no doubt I will get fed up of asking this question one of these days)

"The Daily Echo has attempted to contact Mr Brevett but has so far been unable to speak to him." Did they ever get hold of him I wonder....?
