The ''I'm desperate for a Man U ticket can you help me'' thread?
trousers replied to Summers's topic in The Saints
No, that would be childish and/or churlish. Oh, and Man Utd will play a strong first team, not their reserves. HTH -
I also believe that Man Utd will field a strong team. Just take a look at their fixture list.... It's not as congested in early January as it is the rest of the season - they have no midweek game either side of the FA Cup 3rd round fixture. I doubt therefore that they would want their first string players to go without a game for 12 days....

Concrete is a very complicated mixture of different metal oxides, hydroxides, and silicates (many of which form extensive, interpenetrating networks), mixed with a filler material such as gravel or rock. It does not maintain its chemical identity when heated. If concrete is heated to a high enough temperature, the hydroxides decompose to form oxides and water; the water is quickly lost as the vapor. The remaining metal oxides are quite refractory; they remain solid at very high temperatures. The rock components of concrete will decompose or melt at differing temperatures depending on their mineral composition. So the short answer to your question is that concrete will decompose rather then melt when heated, and the clinker that remains after it cools back down will unmistakably not be concrete.

Good thing really.....they'd only end up on people's shoulders if chips were sold at the ground

Completely hypothetical question alert.... If the stadium was to accidently burn down, would that ironically help us out of our financial hole (directly or indirectly)? In other words, we'd have to involuntarily start ground sharing with someone else (which would get around the league rules about voluntarily becoming homeless) and rather than build a like-for-like replacement stadium build a smaller one with lower build and running costs, sell off some of the land in the process and pocket the difference..... As I say, just a hypothetical question....obviously...

A 6 or 7 figure sum? (if that's not giving away too much....) cheers

"Say no more"....as in it's a good job the council is run by the Tories as they are not prone to wasting tax payers money on such white elephants as SMS. And to think people have somehow got it into their heads that the Tories are rubbish at this Government malarkey. Cheers for highlighting how good a job they are doing BTF. Mr Cameron would be proud.

What would the increase in Council Tax be per head to cover the purchase?

Lee Molyneux Profile Born: 24/02/1989 Nationality: English Position: Defender A left-sided fullback, Lee has also played in midfield. He is something of a set-piece specialist and proved it by netting a superb direct free-kick against Liverpool’s reserves last season. A naturally attacking player, Lee uses his pace to great effect to trouble the opposition. He has featured for England under 18s in the past. Molyneux was involved in the first-teams friendly at FC Sion in July 2008.

Hang on a minute.... Going into Administration costs 10 points. That's 3 wins and a draw.... So, by selling our two best players in January the Club (or their creditors?) are predicting that we will lose less than 10 points over 20 games without our two best players.... Surely that's a contradiction? If our two "star" players are as good as they're being made out to be then wouldn't they be worth more to the team than 10 points over half a season? Can someone explain this lack of logic for me? Thanks.

Probably already posted by someone else, but (stating the obvious alert)...isn't this tie a double edged sword IF we play very well on the day....? I can't think of a bigger shop window to put our good players in, and so early in the January transfer window to boot. So, in theory, a very good performance against Man Utd could damage our chances for the rest of the season. Perhaps....

Why are there so many people on here you seem unable to grasp the simply economic principle of 'supply and demand' ?

Woodward - Rupey's next 'Cost Effective' Addition?
trousers replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1089089/Where-theres-Will-theres-way-Scots-Team-GB.html "Rugby World Cup-winning coach Sir Clive Woodward wants to return to football after the London 2012 Olympics, despite enduring a troubled year with Southampton. Woodward said yesterday he would prefer a management job in football rather than rugby after his director of elite performance contract with the British Olympic Association ends. He said: 'Contrary to what's been said, I really enjoyed my time at Southampton and learned a lot. But I need to be the manager and I think I will have some offers from the lower divisions. If not, I will take a rugby job.' He added that advice from League Managers Association chairman Howard Wilkinson on setting up a World Cup squad had been instrumental in planning his 2003 triumph with England." -

Devil's advocate alert.... If his agent is in the dark then perhaps his agent isn't doing his job properly? Much as most of us dislike the activities of certain agents, isn't it an agent's job to be shop windowing their clients around likely candidates...Spurs being a prime one? Just a thought (and no doubt a bad one at that !)
