Boom!
-
I heard a rumour that the PL is a higher level but don't quote me on that...
-
Prefer it when we get our one goal per game later than this....

Hunch confirmed, sadly

Today's pre-match press conference
-
Stop moaning about people moaning FFS!
-
How much have you put on us getting promoted...?
-
Yeah... those pesky kids on the internet commenting on what they see and hear... you'd never get that back in my day! They don't know they're born! #imbeciles #dontmentionthewar

*press conference

People on the internet selectively choosing media reports that match their own world view....? Whatever next....?
-
He applied the same warped logic to those of us that weren't overly critical of Ralph. Hey ho... each to their own I guess....
-
Yeah... Those pesky kids... Wanting us to win convincingly rather than scraping through games... They've never had it so good...! (Translation: one can be happy that we're unbeaten yet still be critical of how we're achieving it. The two aren't mutually exclusive... #logical #commonsense #aardvark)

Someone needs to tell Google they've got their definition of 'save' wrong... (Not least because they call it 'soccer'... )
-
He prevented an inevitable goal with his intervention. Doesn't matter to me whether it's called a "save" or something else. It stopped a goal being scored. Simple as that.

I have the same gut feel... we do appear to be more unlucky than most teams with career affecting injuries on our younger players... I wonder if the stats back up this perception?.
-
Bad form I know but I'm inclined to answer the question with a few questions... What other team(s) in the Premier League (past or present) play (or have played) with similar tactics to that of Russell Martin? How much did they spend on their squad? And how well did they do? The answer to those questions will inform us as to what we would need to do to emulate the teams that play like us, but in the PL...

I guess interviewers such as Blackmore are in a damned if they do, damned if they don't position. He's been accused plenty of times in the past of giving managers an easy ride in interviews. I still see nothing in his opening statement/question that warrants a tetchy reaction from a professional football manager so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. (Unless we're all supposed to share the same opinion?)

I bow to the wisdom of the Charlie Wayman syndicate....

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/joel-piroe-reveals-what-happened-27991032 Joel Piroe says the ambition of manager Daniel Farke was a key factor in convincing him to make the move to Leeds United. Piroe says Leeds felt like a good fit from the moment they showed an interest in his signature, and says a conversation with boss Farke helped seal the deal. "I had a chat with the manager and he made clear what the ambitions of the club are and what they want to achieve," he added. "I wanted to do the same things as the club, so it made sense for me to make the move. "I saw the squad and the potential there, and I knew it was somewhere I wanted to be." What's saying that the manager was a key factor "shorthand" for....?

Am I the only one not seeing anything contentious/provocative about Adam Blackmore's opening question? Word-for-word: "Russell, first of all, well done on the clean sheet, but I thought the second half turnaround, stopping them getting near the penalty area and creating the chances they created in the first half was probably the difference in the game?" What am I missing? What would have been a better opening question?

I can't think of another plausible reason for such a tetchy interview...
