Bit of an odd presentation though...... part speech, part interview (with an interviewer that didn't have a microphone). Edit: just seen the 'official' BBC footage where he's looking into the camera, ergo, ignore me

I think the point is that we simply don't know what the reason for his protracted introduction to the team and/or media is (as born out by the 'ifs' in your post, for example). No doubt its all perfectly innocent and understandable, and there may be some reasons of confidentiality that has led to media team refraining from their usual new signing exposure, but given there hasn't been any explanation (AFAIK) then its only natural that inquisitive folks such as myself will continue to ponder on why he's being treated differently to our other signings (from a publicity perspective at least).

Granted, but isn't that a bit 'chicken and egg' though? I agree that he "hasn't done anything" in the 18 months since, but that's precisely where my curiosity lies...i.e. *why* hasn't he done anything since then? Given Ralph seemed to really rate him (caveat: yes, it was a reaction after only half a game - noted), I'm just pondering upon why he wasn't given more opportunities thereafter (caveat: yes, he had a poor next game - noted). I guess the answer could simply be along the lines of: "Whilst Ralph was impressed with his performance versus Spurs, and made comments to the effect that Sims had a bright future at the club, his opinion could have changed fairly rapidly thereafter due to Sims regressing in training/U23 games etc. Or maybe an attitude issue came to the fore over the ensuing weeks. Or... etc" Anyway, enough of my aimless pondering. Perhaps I should keep my curiosity to myself rather than post it on the internet for scrutiny

Ralph was very positive about Sims him after his second half showing versus Spurs in March 2019.... https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2019-03-10/ralph-hasenhuttl-academy-contribution-southampton-tottenham-premier-league-1819 I wonder what happened thereafter for Ralph to go from singing his praises to seemingly not rating him?

Shoulda brought on JWP to take the free kick

Need a goal... Cue Jordan Henderson...
-
As two of the most industrious / tenacious players on the bench, one would expect to see Ings and JWP come on fairly early in the second half as the 10 men start to tire / fade...? #notbiasedintheslightest

Please can someone ask if they plan to resurrect the less 'cloak and dagger' fan forums? (Yes, I know they'll play the "yeah, but, covid innit" card, but no reason why the same format couldn't be achieved via Zoom participation and still broadcast by BBC Solent. Cheers

Until the club stop concealing what the problem was/is then we'll remain in the dark

Cheers. Yeah, agree about not jumping to conclusions, however the anecdotal evidence out there isn't favourable towards DaGrosa. Was rather hoping there were other interested parties and that the club we're using DaGrosa's interest as negotiating fodder. If DaGrosa is the only show in town, here's hoping the details are more reassuring than the apparent misgivings on the surface.

Hi Hypo, Do you know if the DaGrosa 'bid' is the only party interested in acquiring the club as things stand, or are there other prospective owners engaged in talks? Cheers
-
Same thought has crossed my mind. Would surprise me if such things aren't regulated...
-
This DaGrosa fella has got 'Tommac' written all over him... If there's any legs in this then I fear for our club's future. Hopefully the 'Katharina veto' is genuine and that she's got her 'once bitten (Gao), twice shy' hat well and truly fixed to her head...

Bit of a mixed bag first half for Ings. Apart from his splendid through ball to CL he's been chasing shadows somewhat and playing a few loose balls. Tenacious as ever though. Not helped by another static England midfield either.
