  1. Bit of a mixed bag first half for Ings. Apart from his splendid through ball to CL he's been chasing shadows somewhat and playing a few loose balls. Tenacious as ever though. Not helped by another static England midfield either.

  3. Every cloud... although assume he's now out of the Chelsea game regardless?
  4. Has tested positive for Covid (FFS) https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2020-10-07/stuart-armstrong-southampton-football-club-scottish-fa-covid-19
  5. Any chance you could post something like this on a daily basis just in case we forget how unimpressed you are with this transfer? Much obliged

  7. IIRC, in the season we won the Premier League 2 Cup (or whatever it was called), we had a pretty stable u23 side who had played together consistently. Repeating what I said earlier but every u23 / b team line up these days seems to be significantly different to the previous game. That surely can't help with player gelling which is a key influencing factor on team performance, can it?
  8. Poor result tonight but that looks like a bit of a makeshift line up. Only one centre back for example? There doesn't seem to be much consistency with our B team line ups so far this season so little chance of any gelling taking place. If we're gonna be serious about this concept of the B team shadowing the first team then I'd hope to see a bit more consistency in the line ups. (That said, I guess we can't / won't play the same line up across different competitions)
  9. Fair play to @hypochondriac again. He did say things should start moving on the ownership front around mid-October
  10. The ghost of Dalek lives 😂
  11. Now that the transfer window is done and dusted, do you think we'll finish top half or bottom half of the table this season...? Top half for me (surprise, surprise!)
  12. I used to holiday in Cornwall as a kid - loved it there. However, as an adult, I've tended to holiday in more exotic locations because of my financial situation allowing me to do so and wanting to see what the rest of the world has to offer. I holidayed back in Cornwall last month and will probably do so more often in the future now I've reached a certain age of life. I didn't love Cornwall any less because I chose to holiday elsewhere for a period of time.... This post was brought to you by the Potentially Dodgy Analogies Corporation.
  13. There's definitely something 'different' about the Salisu signing from a publicity perspective. We've seen the 'normal' club publicity machine kick in for the signings of Diallo and Walcott - formal photo session with kit, video interview, etc. They both got the full works, whereas all we've seen of Salisu is a couple of snatched shots at one training session and the media filming day. Why no interview? Why no formal photographs? There may well be a perfectly valid reason for the media department not giving him the usual full monty publicity treatment, but without any explanation as to why it's perfectly reasonable to observe the different approach and ponder "why?" The fact that he might be injured or was quarantining at the beginning doesn't explain the low key coverage from the media team.
  14. The more I think about this transfer the happier I get. Seems 'right' somehow.
  15. "merci"..? So, a player currently at a French club then...?
