The Mail are saying that we've been "offered" Weston McKennie. Are they saying that Schalke approached us rather than the other way round? That puts a bit of a new angle on things to earlier reports, doesn't it? (unless I'm giving the Mail too much credit for their nuanced reporting )

Except July?

Indeed. Utter madness if you ask me

Vote for Ings for striker of the year in Soccer AM's twitter poll.... https://twitter.com/SoccerAM/status/1287705164481204224?s=20 Edit: oops, sorry, didn't mean to quote that old post there....

A slightly different slant on the subject from the Guardian..... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jul/27/premier-league-2019-20-review-players-of-the-season

Lovren's move to Zenit St Petersburg confirmed. £11m deal. Bargain for the world's best defender IMO https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53556646 (Do we have a sell on clause?)

I'm totally bonkers, let's face it (it's 'loose' btw.... )

I am barking mad though so don't forget to take that into account when judging people

Despite the Saints tinted glasses, there is definitely a case for rating Ings higher than Vardy, Aubameyang and Mane in the striker department: Open-play goals Ings 21 Aubameyang 20 Vardy 19 Mane 18 Minutes per goal (all goals, incl pens) Ings 128 Vardy 132 Aubameyang 143 Mane 153 Plus it ought to be taken into account how much better Ings needed to be given he wasn't in a top 6 side. (although, of course, Ings's form kicked in at around the same point in the season where we transformed into a top 6 performing side)

“My loans have all been really positive, I’ve learnt from three great managers, and I feel like I’m at the stage now where I’ve established myself in a very good side. At the end of the day, I’m a Southampton player, but after becoming a major part of the team I’m in, if those opportunities were suddenly to be reduced or taken away from me, I’d probably really struggle with it.” Translation: "I have no intention of going back to Southampton if I'm not going to be in the starting 11 week-in-week-out" Which is fair enough

Thanks @Earthworm Jim. @LeG - does that tally with what you know about the second CB we're looking to sign? Cheers
-
Hi @Earthworm Jim... did you take up @LeG's offer over the weekend to DM him the name/nationality etc of the other CB signing that you're aware of? Would be good to have another ratified 'ITK' member on here....

He looks about 10 years older...!
-
Depends how long term his view is.... We are overtly a stepping-stone / shop-window club.... so playing for us for a couple of years *could* end up being the quickest route to one of the traditional top premier league clubs. Leicester are much more likely to want to keep him there for the long term and could therefore actually hold up his progress in the long run.... Perhaps....

Was the sound recorded on a potato?

I think it's more about players that fit into Ralph's intense / high-tempo system. Boufal may well be more technically gifted than this McKennie fella but, on first impressions, the latter seems like a better fit to the way we play.
-
Another video here that makes him look superb.... a more intense / high-tempo version of Lemina....?
-
Both the club and a fair few fans it would seem...

As the clock ticks towards midnight, I'm still sat up waiting for the highlights of our 11th place crunch match on MotD. How's that for dedication?
