  1. Logic would suggest it can't be as simple as that. Under Hasenhuttl, outside of the Top 6, we are on a par with "the best of the rest", yet those teams that we are competive with don't seemingly suffer as much as we do with losing points from a winning position and/or conceding late in the game. Ergo, answering the question: "Why do we concede so many late goals?" with: "because we are not particularly a good premier league side" fails to identify why it seemingly happens more to us than it does to other teams that are as good as us overall.
  2. Probably an indication of how Hughes played a lower risk game where the first aim was a draw and a win was a bonus. RH's approach is more gung-ho where the primary aim is to win with the draw as a fall back position. Once he's moulded the squad to fit his system I suspect we'll start to preserve winning positions more than we have under him this season. IMHO of course.
  3. Indeed. Us and Watford are pretty much level on points since Hassenhuttl came onboard...
  4. And imagine the hoohah on here had we conceded after either of those two coming on... "Why the **** did RH bring a striker on for when we needed to protect our lead...? Blah blah blah" Damned if you do, damned if you don't
  5. Long had picked up an injury and couldn't continue. Not sure what other option RH had in the circumstances?
  6. We'd have all settled for a point before the game but, **** me, how many times do we throw away 3 points near the death?
  7. Ssssssshhhhh (FFS)
  8. Sims coming on... Brave move...?
  9. This has got a Watford equaliser written all over it
  10. Blatant shirt pull on Stephens during that last Saints corner
  11. Injured (IIRC?)
  12. Fair point. I guess it's a good idea to have two defenders on a bench, even if they're the only two fit defenders left in the squad!
  13. Bit of a head-scratcher line-up on paper. Can't see what the logic is in having two specialist right-backs on the bench.
  14. I reckon we'll lose this one but beat Bournemouth on Saturday. So, only another 4 days of consternation to go
  15. The natives are getting restless.... https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&vertical=default&q=trump%20portsmouth&src=typd .... somewhat ironic for a community that welcomed dodgy character after dodgy character as owners of the previous football club that played at Fratton Park. I wonder if Trump knows that all he has to do to ingratiate himself with the good people of Portsmouth is to offer to buy a trophy for them (and worry about how to pay for it later)?
  16. Tick
  17. Agree with those hoping for a draw. Best result all things considered
  18. Cardiff very close to taking the lead!
  19. ...
  20. Textbook
  21. Good to see we've grown some balls and refused the original request. Wouldn't surprise me if the PL end up capitulating though.
  22. What are you going to do with your winnings?
