  1. Isn't that a bit odd if true? Surely talking about the future direction would have been top of the agenda for any manager of a football club talking to the owner? Or possibly I'm over thinking this one, just for once...
  2. Yep, can't wait for the renationalised train operators to become as efficient and reliable as the already nationalised Network Rail...
  3. Mine recently renewed automatically ok. That was a PayPal payment rather than DD, so perhaps that's the difference. Alternatively, perhaps the mods and admin have all retired now that the forum has been troll free for over a year thus rendering their roles redundant?
  4. VvD not featuring in this week's U23 game was a fairly sure sign that he was being lined up to start on Saturday, but that happening and you being told its happening for sure aren't mutually exclusive, so in the spirit of SWF harmony I'll offer my thanks for the confirmation
  5. Have just watched the highlights for the first time and to me its a pre-meditated clear-cut push rather than the usual 'six of one, half a dozen of the other' tussles that go on in the box week in week out. Therefore, my verdict is that its an obvious foul. What crystalises this in my mind is that if Hoedt had pushed Lukaku in the same clinical fashion, the ref is likely to have given a penalty. (I'm aware that my opinion may be influenced by Saints supporter bias, but I've tried to be as objective as possible in my assessment here)
  6. VvD not in tonight's U23 squad, which may indicate that he'd being lined up for a starting berth on Saturday
  7. Just back from the game. Deserved a point out of that. Very good performance second half, bar the usually struggle to get the ball over the line. Got into some dangerous positions though. Lemina man of the match again. The ref never gave us any benefit of the doubt decisions. I'm contemplating joining the "how does Redmond manage to stay on for the whole game" club. He would be much better as an impact sub at the moment IMO. We're a Mané-esque player short of being an excellent side. Disappointed with the result but content with the overall performance, the lack of finishing aside of course.
  8. At the game. A decent first half performance from us. Have contained Utd for the most part. Utd look a lot more dangerous than us going forward (said trousers stating the bleedin' obvious!). Gabbi on for Redmond in the second half for me. P.s. Fellani getting away with murder as per usual
  9. Lots of Saints fans keen to get a view of the Utd players warming up... #moderndayfootball

  16. Mourinho in his press conference saying that he hasn't seen a significant change in how Southampton play under Pochettino, Koeman, Puel and now under Pellegrino, and because of that consistency we are a very good club to be a manager at. Pah, what does he know compared to the SWF intelligentsia....?

  18. Shurlock my good fellow... Do you want the honours of posting a 'whooooosh' or happy to leave it with me? I wouldn't want to take the limelight for such a splendid team effort without asking first
  19. Forster Cedric - VvD - Hoedt - Bertie Romeu - Lemina Gabbi - Long - Gallagher Austin 5-0 Saints

  22. We just beat Man City U18s 3-0, so maybe the future isn't looking quite as "gash" as the present... https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-09-20/match-report-southampton-under-18s-manchester-city-premier-league-cup
