  1. The pace will come from the wings. Barnard still fast enough to cause a threat at this level.
  2. Not in the JPT they won't! Lee Barnard is cup-tied. Only in the playoffs and FA Cup.
  3. Because they don't want other clubs to know how much we have or haven't got. Makes good business sense so Saints don't get ripped off in future deals.
  4. I have been told the current number and sadly it wasn't Numberwang!
  5. Oxymoron
  6. You can't change numbers mid season. It is just a training bib, means nothing. Hence why Lambert is wearing number 9 and not his number 7. Barnard imo will be number 17 vacated by Paterson.
  7. He'd be great in this league even though he is a Pompey player of 8 years. I'd be happy if he signed as is exactly the type of player Saints need. One drawback to signing him is that it is giving money to Pompey.
  8. He is about 5 inches shorter and a very different sort of player.
  9. Because with Barnard joining he is a long way from ever starting for Saints. If he was included in the deal the transfer fee would come down. Southend wouldn't bother saying it was a separate deal if it wasn't.
  10. Southend OS says Paterson was a separate deal, so not a part exchange.
  11. According to Southend OS Paterson was a... So it was NOT a swap deal. Very likely a future package arranged with high % sell on clause as he went for free.
  12. Matt Paterson gone the other way and NOT on loan.
  13. He may have signed but just not announced until the club is ready. They may be training atm and do press calls later in afternoon.
  14. I've been to Derby, can't understand the accent no matter how hot they are.
  15. I don't think any of those three places would be a good starting point for that.
  16. Crystal Palace and Southend both have big money problems. Saints seem to be on the look out for good players at clubs such as these as the prices are cheaper and you can attract the players(some currently aren't being paid on time). It seems harsh but football has always been like this and is very much a dod eat dog industry. This in tomorrow's Mirror... http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Derby-in-crisis-as-every-player-is-put-up-for-sale-Exclusive-article296073.html So which Derby players would you like to see put on the red and white?
  17. Having just watched the pre match Manager interview on Saints Player if I were a betting man then I would say Oscar Gobern has a good chance of starting the Ipswich game.
  18. It is really a 32k stadium but with 22k seats fitted atm. They want to make it over 40k for the Would Cup when current average attendance is 10k.
  19. Yeah, but only MK Dons and Leeds from League One have got on the England World Cup bid. Leeds of course have a huge fanbase and it is not an issue especially as they move up through the leagues. MK Dons struggle to get 10k, yet may soon have a 40k+ stadium.
  20. No he isn't. For a start there is a 4 or 5 inch height difference.
  21. Not really, if Pompey go out of business all leagues will still have the same amount of teams.
  22. Lisbie has never played for West Ham.
  23. Not just the fans that are thick on the Portsmouth News comment page... Avram Grant chips in with this ridiculous comment http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2817313/Grant-begs-Av-some-heart.html
  24. How they think MK Dons will fill a 40,000 stadium after 2018 I don't know! A white elephant if ever there was one.
