Can something without substance be fucked up?
-
This thread has been lacking substance of any kind since it started. The thread has rumbled on for 17 pages without anything credible happening in the public eye.

Four... with a cherry on top! 😇

How about calling women 'chicks'?

@Convict Colony You have got very confused with the context of each of those quotes and what they were responding to! - The first quote you've used of mine their is regarding the Sun article. My claim was the Sun article 'doesn't prove they would prevent him from owning the club now'. That is undeniably correct as it makes no mention of it. - The second quote is regarding you thinking the Insider Sport article defeats me saying the Sun article doesn't prove what you claim. That is a compete red herring and is irrelevant. If the second article is evidence he would be prevented, that has no relevance to my claim the first article doesn't.

I'm distantly related to Benny Hill, doesn't mean I've ever spoken to him.
-
I haven't done that at all. Show me an example of that.

That post of mine was in reference to the Sun article and I'm clealry right regarding that statement I made as the Sun article does not prove they would prevent him owning the club. So I'll ask again... What claim I've made in this thread do you think has been defeated with that link from Insider Sport?
-
Is the wink due to you being aware of the 25 goal swing in goal difference required?
-
What claim I've made in this thread do you think has been defeated with that link?

I did not say that. Plus a hypothetical of 'is player X better than having no player at all in that position?' really is not a question worth asking. As it is beyond obvious! 🙄
-
One mistake for the goal doesn't outweigh everything else a player does in a match. This is how you get fans writing off a player as they focus on the limited number of mistakes they make rather than all the good things a player does during the rest of the 90 minutes. I certainly don't want Stephens as a first choice starter for us, but as a 4th choice centre back he is a good option in the squad and we'd struggle to find a better 4th choice option.

It is blindingly obvious having Taylor as a left back is better than having no left back at all. But when you do a team of the season for the 2020/21 season, Bertrand was our left back for that season. Not sure why this is hard to grasp.
-
Really not the best source and that article doesn't prove that they would prevent him from owning the club now.

The rules for this hypothetical team were set out in this thread when the discussion was started on 3rd May with the question... "Just out of interest which Burnley players do you think would get in our team?". On the 3rd May... Bertrand was a Southampton player. He also remains a Southampton player until 30th June 2021 and that is 6 weeks away!

The 1970s called for you (yet again) and wants its opinions back! 🙄
-
It was two formations... the normal 4222 without the ball and pressing to win the ball back, transitioning to 343 with the ball with Redmond and Walker-Peters as wing backs

I doubt it... https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/15/obituaries/paul-allen-dead.html

The only issue with Gao is he hasn't invested, but I can't see why that should stop him being an owner. Sure it would have been great if he invested in the club, but he hasn't been a disaster by any means. He has allowed for seemingly good appointments in management positions like Semmens and Crocker and seemingly allows them to get on with the running of the club without detrimental interference.
-
You have completely missed the point. If we are comparing squad then you compare squads in the current season, not now vs the future when players have left in the summer. Of course Taylor is better than having no left back, but for the majority of the season Bertrand was our left back and he is better than Taylor.
-
Taylor is not better than Bertrand. Bertrand remains a very good player, as the media links he has had to leaving us for Leicester, Arsenal, AC Milan and Man City suggest. He isn't leaving us to go to a weaker team, he'll be moving to a better team so isn't on the decline that some people think he is. It is irrelevant that Bertrand is leaving in the summer to the comparison, the comparison should be first XI vs first XI in the 2020/21 season. We don't yet know who our left back next season is for a comparison to be made with Taylor.

I don't see why Salisu and Vestergaard can't play together. If Vestergaard refuses to sign a new deal this summer then it probably makes sense to sell him whilst he still holds some value. I agree that Tella is looking like he going to be more of an attacking threat than Redmond. But I still think Redmond is worth keeping even if not first choice.
