As Hasenhuttl has openly confirmed McCarthy is first choice, it isn't a surprise he starts league games.

Currently only one teenager in our starting line-up. He isn't remotely out of place in the Premier League. He just had a man of the match performance in a draw vs Man Utd. Certainly beats this... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/7815964.stm

Signing Chelsea's academy player of the season and signing Everton's youngest ever player who they desperately wanted to keep is a bit different to having Lloyd James and Simon Gillet trying to keep us up in the Championship.
-
0-3 to Saints then? Why does Mike Dean being on VAR need to mean he screws Saints over? He might screw Newcastle instead!
-
He is number 4 as expected...
-
Sometimes winger, sometimes fullback. You can even see him playing both positions in all the YouTube footage, he is wearing number 7 when in midfield and 2 as a fullback.
-
Livramento played in midfield throughout his time at Chelsea.

Ryan Christie would have been a better use of the money. Lower wages, 6 years younger and a low transfer fee as his contract expires soon.
-
Even if we didn't win with him there, it doesn't mean he didn't play well.
-
The article has now been edited to say 'at least £40m'.
-
It isn't a mistake if that is the only way we could get him. Saints have benefited from his very low purchase price. He is clearly an absolute bargain at £5m, that is far below his worth. So a £20m profit for him isn't bad.

That was from a wind up Twitter account. It also linked Saints with signing Antoine Griezmann.
-
That makes me over qualified!

He has an extremely highly PA on FM

At 18 years old he has made it into the England under 21 squad...
-
FM is a simulation not an arcade game, so those things are also hard to do on the game.
-
As we now have... - Livramento - Perraud - Small - Walker-Peters - Valery We don't need any central midfielder to also cover fullback like we needed last season. So any new player can be a central midfield specialist rather than a jack of all trades.
-
No I wouldn't. Performing at league level is what is relevant.

I think you watch different games to the rest of us. Sure we'd prefer him in the 'number 10 role', but he has done a good job filling in in the 'number 6' role.
