  1. If we used Stevens instead of Djenepo/Walcott it reduces the attacking threat Saints have and would require a change in formation or shoehorning a player to a position he isn't natural in. It worked fine with Bertrand and Djenepo working together on the left.
  2. Shaw is injured.
  3. Wolves have only scored 8 goals this season vs Saints 16. They should be wary of us!
  4. It is on Sky Sports. You can pay £9.99 for a Now TV day pass and watch it.
  5. If Hasenhuttl prefers Stephens to Bednarek... why do you think Stephens is not currently playing? I agree with Hasenhuttl and I'd rather Bednarek and Vestergaard start until Salisu is ready.
  6. Not strictly true... a 5-4 defeat would put Saints level on GD but keep Saints above Everton on goals scored 😉
  7. Yes it would. We'd be level on points and GD, but behind Everton on goals scored.
  8. You are jumping to conclusions.
  9. Did you feel the same about changing badges away from the traditional one of the previous 89 years in 1974?
  10. No it is not like that... because at no point did I say the current badge is not part of our history. It has been part of the history for the last 46 years, but not the first 89 years of the club. We had many more years without it than with it! Having the current badge since 1974 is not a good enough reason for it to remain the club badge for ever more. Pretty much every single English league club has had multiple changes to their badges. Problem is people get attached to the one they grew up with and disregard that there were changes before they grew up and will probably be changes in the future.
  11. Saints didn't have that badge for the first 89 years the club existed! 'History' would have been keeping the city crest as the badge. Would have rejected the change of badge in 1974 after 89 years with a different one?
  12. A role model to all young Pompey fans...
  13. Hasenhuttl won't be on anything remotely like £20k per week. He'll be on far more than that. The Telegraph claimed Saints in 2016 offered Koemam over £80k per week to stay, Everton just offered more.
  14. If you were a teenager at a struggling Championship club and Arsenal offered you a wage increase and quick route to Premier League football would you turn it down?
  15. Match results aren't what Horseman should be judged on. It should be how well he develops players to be ready to move into the first team. They could lose every game 3-0, but if he is improving some of the players so Hasenhuttl can use them then he is doing his job well.
  16. He is still only 18 years old. It doesn't have to be this season for a breakthrough.
  17. Lots of problems with that. The window is closed and Stokes other keepers will be back by the time it does open. Stoke couldn't get remotely close to Forster's wages.
  18. Denis Irwin
  19. How does he prevent him going if an elite European club comes in for him?
  20. I think you'd struggle to name many clubs in the UK who haven't changed their crest multiple times.
  21. Using that 'logic' being 3 points above the relegation zone at the end of the season is not being in a relegation battle.
  22. It is still competing for a place if you end the season only 3 points away from it.
