  1. Bertrand wants to stay...
  2. Theo wasn't moving to a new country and needing time to adjust. He was moving back to a club he has an affinity with.
  3. It doesn't save money. We'd need to buy a replacement and pay him. Keeping Bertrand would save money.
  4. He'd have no value in the summer as no signing of contact means he leaves for free this summer.
  5. Final details being drawn up
  6. The loan payments (albeit with high interest rate) don't start until 2025 and most of the other issues are resolved once the pandemic is over.
  7. You are mixing up governing bodies.
  8. - Large net loss explained by extenuating circumstances i.e timing of transfer window moved to beyond accounting period, Covid impact of no crowds - Large loan taken out last year to help with Pandemic costs is not repayable until 2025 https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2021-01-12/st-marys-football-group-financial-results-2019-20
  9. That would be a dynamite midfield pairing!
  10. I'd go further and say no chance. They want the money from a new kit every year. Keeping last years cuts off a revenue stream during a pandemic.
  11. Romeu is 29 years old, he is in his prime. He shouldn't be on the decline yet. Wellington is 9 months older than Romeu, so not a long term replacement.
  12. That does not hold up as numerous games earlier in the competition were forfeited. So precedent has already been set. For example...
  13. @Lord Duckhunter Similar to Maidstone?
  14. Snow gets games postponed due to being unsafe for fans outside the stadium. But there are no fans going to games so snow doesn't matter. Saints and other Premier League teams have under soil heating. Snow is not an issue to make a pitch unplayable at St Mary's.
  15. @egg Plus Saints is even shorter timing! Spurs found out on Monday to Wednesday, so have Tuesday to prepare. That is longer than Saints finding out after training on Tuesday you have a game the next day. So won't have done tactic work for Leeds before the game.
  16. So what? I am aware of that and don't think that is a good idea either, for the same reason!
  17. Shrewsbury announced two more positive results today. Imagine if the cancelling the Leeds game and then Shrewsbury's outbreak grows for a 3rd time and we end up with no Leeds game or FA Cup game. The FA should have followed through on what they said about using 14 available players including youth players if shot of senior players and Shrewsbury forfeiting due to not doing that.
  18. This is 2021, not 1981. One day's notice is not enough time to properly prepare, plus it would mess up preparations for Saturday.
  19. They are doing 5th round now
  20. So he is inept, not all knowing and fallible then? 🤔
  21. So your source lied?
  22. Who we drew is irrelevant if the plan is to switch the Leeds game.
  23. Arsenal then. So which of the options is it then @whelk? 😁
