The reliability of the journalist and article is put into question when he makes factual errors like...

Loans are not free. You need to pay loan fees and wages.

Saints vs Borussia Mönchengladbach - Match Thread
Matthew Le God replied to wessex saint's topic in The Saints
For it to be a mess it needs to be compared to previous success... something Reed was partly responsible for. So if you blame him now... why refuse to praise him for previous good work? -
We were terrible with 4 at the back last season under Pellegrino until Hughes changed to a 3 centre back system.

If you mean me... then you are wrong. I have never attended a fans forum, they are pointless. Crab Lungs summed them up well...

Because that runs the risk of Gunn signing for another club. Signing Gunn before Forster has left is not a "shambles", the "shambles" was giving Forster a contract until 2022.

1) What exactly is a "corner shop mentality"? 2) What other types of financial mentalities are there? 3) Which is the best financial mentality and why?

Matt Targett - Joins Aston Villa (Official)
Matthew Le God replied to Kaiser Soze's topic in The Saints
What makes you think that? Where to and when? -
Do we? I think Targett showed last night he is capable of performing that role, plus the club appears to have converted Reed to right wing-back.

Could Southampton mount a World Cup 2030 bid?

Care to tell us why? Because Plymouth made the list last time, so why not Saints this time? -

What we have going for us over the two you mention is a stadium already at 32000 and less likely to be a white elephant. -
Lots of first half bedwetters in this thread!

They have moved the pitch one metre closer to the Kingsland so the subs have more room to warm up. The pitch is exactly the same size (a size the PL demands of all clubs if their stadium is big enough).

A MLG stadium expansion thread, oh go on then... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45035459 The 2018 World Cup bid came at a time Saints were in a financial mess, so didn't put themselves forward. If the FA go for a geographical spread as they seemed to want in 2018 then Saints could possibly be up against Bristol, Plymouth, Brighton or even an unlikely Portsmouth bid to represent the South of England outside London. Even if other home nations join in, you would need a lot of stadiums for a 48 team World Cup.

Saints are mentioned as having an interest in him in the Mirror article.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
Matthew Le God replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
Our wages won't have dropped that much since 2017. Saints wages were significantly above a lot of other teams in 2017 yet you think most are now above us. What evidence do you have for that claim when there are PL rules in place restricting yearly increases in wage bills!? -

Matthew Le God replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
The most recent available accounts show otherwise. Only 7 teams with higher wagebills is not "most of the Premier League". Swiss Ramble @SwissRamble Apr 4More Following the growth, #SaintsFC £112m wage bill is the 8th highest in the Premier League, just behind Leicester £113m and only £15m lower than Tottenham, but ahead of Everton £105m. -

A universe where coming bottom of the Premier League gets you circa £100m in TV money. £15m really isn't out of place for a player who did very well in the Championship last season. -
Palace paid a similar amount for Benteke.

The Echo article does not say that. If he leaves on loan to Burnley he won't be playing at St Mary's, only if he is sold.
