  1. We signed Redmond when no manager was in place, Saints were in advanced talks with Puel at the time so Redmond knew who the manager would be.
  2. My point was that if we appoint Hughes soon it would be a month earlier than last season. I'm puzzled as to what you think I was saying!
  3. Today is 23rd May Last season the new manager was appointed on... 23rd June
  4. I didn't say it was.
  5. Two players for 20 clubs is hardly missing out. Plus we don't need a manager to sign players, they are club decisions.
  6. Why do you think it hasn't? He has among the best creative stats in the Premier League since he arrived in 2014.
  7. What are they exactly?
  8. Such as? Brighton - Leon Balogun And that is about it so far! If they are in discussions with Hughes things can still be sorted out at the same time behind the scenes regarding players. By clubs such as...?
  9. They won't be back on 4th June. It'll be early July. 2016/17 - 1st July 2017/18 - 3rd July
  10. On what is that based? Given he is assistant to Guardiola I think it is more likely he'd try to implement a watered down version of Guardiola's style for players at a lower level of ability. Managers tend to appoint assistants who share common philosophies and styles.
  11. I was responding to someone who said "not even if you live to 200. No ****ing chance". I did not say it would definitely happen, but given as recently as 2 years ago we were extremely close, it is wrong to say "no ****ing chance". It is obviously a long shot, but if we got that close 2 years ago, why completely rule out another freak season even if as you say we live to 200 years old. 3 points away 2 years ago shows it is possible the club can get close. That was reality, 63 points for us and 66 points for the Champions League in 2016. No computer game required. Please don't any of you twist my words into thinking I've just said Saints will do it any time soon.
  12. We were 3 points from the Champions League as recently as 2016.
  13. Saints reportedly offered Koeman £86,000 per week in 2016. That is not a small offer.
  14. Apparently West Ham are paying him £192,000 per week. Do you honestly think he worth paying that? https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/west-ham-united-manuel-pellegrini-10m-per-year-salary-a8361586.html
  15. Every year every club releases academy products who then goto Football League clubs. It doesn't mean the academy is struggling. The quality bar to break into a Premier League first time is extremely high.
  16. If it is announced in 6 weeks time then I'd agree it is a complete **** up.
  17. Both parties want it to happen, but both parties want the best deal possible for themselves and that isn't done instantaneously. If it is announced last week or this week it makes no difference to pre-season.
  18. The link with Ajax is odd, Saints can blow them out of the water for wages. Hard to see how they could afford Tadic. 2016/17 Ajax wage bill = £35m Saints wage bill = £112m
  19. Can you outline some actions the FA have taken to achieve that?
  20. He sent the photo, to my surprise it appears genuine! He hasn't sent me anything, he is bull****ting!
  21. If £20m is to other staff, that would still allow 22 players to be paid £80,000 per week.
  22. A man who signed a contract until 30th June 2018 and very likely to be the longer term manager. So the club will be discussing all kinds of things with him for what he wants in place.
  23. £112m wage bill is enough for 27 people to be on £80k p/w.
  24. Safe standing has lot of places to attach it. Plus it also can be turned back into seating... It is hard to see how anyone can object to standing like that. Every single row has a bar in front of it, people cannot be crushed forward with lots of people behind them as the bars get in the way.
