Relegated Teams - Players who would you buy from their Squads?
Matthew Le God replied to le_tiss's topic in The Saints
Zouma is not a contracted player in a relegated squad. The opening post of the thread asks about plundering relegated teams, Zouma is contracted to a team that will finish in the top 5. Stoke's relegation does not make Zouma cheaper to buy... he is a Chelsea player. -

It doesn't match the criteria of the thread, as Chelsea have not been relegated so aren't there to be plundered. -
To say a 62 year old former children's TV presenter is a better footballer than two Premier League regulars is not accurate. It is either a pathetic wind-up or delusional.
-
It would be better to judge a player on his on merits rather than how his club did in one season.

Zouma is a Chelsea player, the other two are not good enough. -
You are right Batman, it is fake news! Finishing positions of Mark Hughes above 9th in the Premier League... 2005/06 - 6th 2007/08 - 7th 2010/11 - 8th

Finally, the long-overdue 2018/19 kit thread...
Matthew Le God replied to The9's topic in The Saints
No, they say on each picture they are created by @conceptkits https://twitter.com/conceptkits Their bio says... So just someone having fun designing kits on request on Twitter. Not the real kits, an amateur designer with photoshop is all it takes. -
Are Swansea capable of scoring 5? They've scored 27 goals in 37 games so far, scoring 5 in one game is very out of character! They've only scored 2 in the last 14 hours of football! How motivated will a World Cup bound Man City player be if he is in for a 50/50 challenge with a Saints player looking to stay up?
-
Why? His ability level has fallen off a cliff, he isn't remotely close to the player he once was.

What if Swansea make up 9-point goal difference?
Matthew Le God replied to Singapore Saint's topic in The Saints
In the scenario you outlined with both on the same points and GD... Saints would stay up due to scoring more goals this season (27 GF vs 37 GF). Swansea require a 10 goal swing in GD in order to stay up. -
Sky Bet at the time I'm writing this are still offering 40/1 for Saints to go down... https://m.skybet.com/football/premier-league/event/20605583

Yup, Saints 0 Man City 3 & Swansea 2 Stoke 0 is probably as bad as it'll get on Sunday. There won't be a 10 goal swing in GD.
-
A 10 goal swing is not going to happen.
-
Plus Swansea may not be quite as motivated any more. If Huddersfield had lost tonight they would have been a lot easier to catch, a 1-0 win could have done it for them vs Stoke now they can only catch us and need a far less likely set of results to do so. A 10 goal swing isn't going to happen regardless.

I'm puzzled by the thought process of anyone thinking that wasn't the case. Blatantly obvious it is harder to rebuild anything when you have £100m+ less in income. Plus, if you mean theory in a scientific sense... then that is a conclusion based on facts and not a guess.
-
They have significantly lower quality players than Chelsea and Man City, it would be daft for them to open up and attack both clubs away from home when all they need is a point for survival.
-
He called it the magic number. What is magic about it if a lower number can also equal safety?
-
I'm puzzled why you've jumped to that. Read back what I said word for word and you'll see I wasn't being a helmet at all in either post.

When did they ever publicly state that there was an agreement?

Why 37 points? - If Swansea lose to Stoke it would be possible to stay up on 33 points - If Swansea draw with Stoke it would be possible to stay up on 34 points - If Swansea beat Stoke it would be possible to stay up on 36 points

There is no news in that, it is simply a rehash of reports in the English tabloids and it admits that within the article.
