mack rill's bizarre use of commas in all the wrong places intrigues me.

That article is from mid August, are you aware things can change between August and January?

What about the player who is second only to Le Tissier in terms of the number of Southampton Premier League assists?

Are Portsmouth schools bottom of the league table for spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and grammar?

Ramy Bensebaini as the article states is a left sided centre back, which makes me doubt this rumour is true. Hoedt was brought in for that role, if we do sign another centre back I think it is more likely to partner Hoedt and play on the right.

Have you considered they didn't play well cos Saints prevented them from playing well?
-
Go where? Forster is on a contract until 2022 and a very good wage. He is hard to sell, as not many clubs that would want him could afford his fee and wages.
-
You appear unaware Saints have among the most expensively assembled squads in world football and among the largest wage bills in world football. That isn't "cheap"!
-
Do you really need this explained again? There are only a tiny handful of clubs in world football that are not selling clubs. When Saints have a player that attracts world record bids of £75m and £180k per week wages then it obvious they aren't going to keep him. There is nothing wrong with having players the worlds richest club want, if anything it is a good thing as it shows the quality we have at the club to keep finding them. Mario Lemina will also probably end up with a huge move eventually.

Saints to use VVD money to bring Theo Walcott back (social media)
Matthew Le God replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
What does according to "Facebook" or according to "social media" really mean? There are 2 billion people registered on Facebook. The actual source is The Mirror & The Telegraph. -
Pickford cost Everton £30m, Butland would likely cost more.

Liverpool agree world-record £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk
Matthew Le God replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Jeremy WilsonVerified account @JWTelegraph 2m2 minutes agoMore Bit more detail on Van Dijk deal. It's £70m, rising to around £75m. Southampton wanted big chunk up front as they plan to be active in January too and want to get an attacker in quickly. -

That would be a disaster for Saints. The club would have a huge fall in income, smaller income = worse players and lower standard of players for fans to watch. -

Are you aware the vast majority of top level transfers are done in instalments over a number of years and most would include add-ons? Saints won't be doing anything different to the rest of the market in this regard. They will be buying and selling players with similar transfer structures to everyone else in the industry. I'd love to one day see you meet some of your claims with some actual evidence. I fear that day will never come. Already many overlooking Celtic get 10%, plus FC Groningen & Wilhelm also get a % under FIFA rules. -
No first choice player was sold in the summer of 2017. The addition of Hoedt & Lemina strengthened the squad compared to the previous season. van Dijk will likely be sold, but if you seriously think Saints can long term keep a player of his quality then you are living on a different planet! (possibly Skaro)
-
Utterly bizarre you included the summer of 2015. In the 2015/16 season Saints finished 6th in the Premier League! ffs
-
Time for change, it really isn't working!

Sammy Lee the Everton coach?

I'm yet to see any good evidence from those that wanted Eric Black out of the club that he was a negative impact on the squad. We simply don't know and it is jumping to conclusions to say you do know. If anything his influence this season decreased, as he was demoted from assistant manager under Puel to 1st team coach under Pellegrino. Seems some people just want to find scapegoats!

I made no comment on if were were or weren't in a relegation battle. All I said was that 18 points from 18 games is not on target for relegation as Dangermouth claimed, being 12th highlights that. How have they got to one game from the halfway point of the season and not played each other? Plus in any case... when rival teams play each other they can't both get 3 points so points will be dropped. I'm puzzled as to what you think I am in "self-denial" about. I explained earlier in this post exactly what my point was, I was responding to Dangermouth claiming 18 points from 18 games is relegation form... it isn't. If it was then we'd by definsition already be in the relegation zone and we aren't!
