Why Saints more than Stoke, Everton, West Brom? All currently below us. Plus I wouldn't swap the Saints squad for Newcastle, Bournemouth, Huddersfield or Brighton's.
-
??? Have you not looked at the league table recently? Burnley are level on points with Arsenal, Watford only 1 point behind.
-
No... "insane" would be to claim we were relegated on 24th November when after only 12 games we are 14th in the league.
-
What an utterly bizarre statement! Is this supposed to be a "joke" of some kind?
-
Utterly bizarre how you've convinced yourself I've said things I didn't.
-
"Equally valid"... really? It is meaningless dribble to say "Our ambition was always, first and foremost to stay up". Of course we want to stay up, every team in the league doesn't want to be relegated. Man Utd and Chelsea don't want to be relegated. To say a team's ambition is to stay up is meaningless... as it is blindingly obvious every team wants to stay up so means little when you say it endlessly on this forum for the last 11 years! As ALWAYS_SFC says... do you not bore yourself Dalek2003? Pretty much all of your posts for the last 11 years are nonsense like this.

Relegation battles happen because you are losing a lot of games. How is that exciting? "Boring" mid table seasons happen because you are winning more games than the teams in a relegation battle. That is what I'd prefer to see for entertainment!

Would he? He was sacked by WBA because it looked like he was taking the down. Pulis football is horrific to watch and not remotely matching what Saints will want in a manager. He is all about results, if he isn't getting results and the football is dreadful then he wasn't going to have a good excuse to remain in a job.

This is just insane :mcinnes: 1) "Get our core support back " Back? Where have they gone? If they are core support then surely they are going to every Premier League game already and haven't gone anywhere 2) "Lower season ticket price" The price is lower because the standard of football is lower. If we went down it would be a disaster in terms of the quality of player we get to watch. 3) "More competitive league" What on earth is that meant to mean? You want Saints in a lower league which is competitive so they can get promoted to a league you want them out of? Your logic is just flawed 4) "Saturday 3pm KO" Does it really matter if it is Saturday at 3pm or Sunday at 4pm? It is just "tradition" for tradition sake. New things that become tradtions have to start somewhere, just as 3pm football in winter did (due to the advent of floodlights) 5) "What was your most enjoyable time as a fan these last few years? Rising up the football league? Or chasing the 40 point mark in the premiership?" Odd you missed out four top 8 finishes in one of the world's best leagues. Finishes 6th in the Premier League is signicantly more of an achievement than 2nd in the Championship.

"Good enough"... for what?
-
Wow! Talk about jumping to conclusions! Of course every player has a price, that is hardly groundbreaking news. If someone bid £1 billion for any player he'd be sold, it is then a question of where the cut off point between £0 and £1 billion is for him.

Mad as a box of...

Don't confuse the Torres of 2003-2010 with the Torres of late 2017. He isn't the same and is no longer a prolific goalscorer.
-
Forster Wanyama van Dijk All blow your argument apart. If we really wanted someone at Celtic, they'd come. They can't get remotely close to the wages Saints can offer. Money generally talks in football.
-
They aren't asking for anything, Crystal Palace have him on loan for the entire season.
-
A current Leicester player is unlikely to say publicly Puel drains the life out of you... as he did to Saints fans. Simpson wants to be in Puel's good books.
-
Why not give the free demo a try before dismissing it?
-
Is 5 defenders, Romeu in front of 3 centre backs and Yoshida as a wing back attacking? An extra centre back = 1 less attacking player. If Burnley sit deep in numbers as they did last time they came to St Mary's, do we really need 3 centre backs and Romeu in front vs 1 isolated striker? Overkill perhaps? We played 4-2-3-1 vs them last time at St Mary's... won 3-1 and had 34 shots & 65 % possession! That was a very attacking game.

Neither of them are links. The first is an article on bookies odds which really is scrapping the barrel of journalism and the second is a suggestion by contributor to HITC so is meaningless.

Sam Gallagher - Joins Blackburn: Official
Matthew Le God replied to Sergei Gotsmanov's topic in The Saints
Saints and Blackburn also used him wide. Not saying it is his best position, but Birmingham & Cotterill aren't doing something new with him. -
- Embarrassing is something you personally or a child you are responsible for has done wrong - Embarrassing is NOT something 11 men who kick a ball around a field and you happen to support them do We are only responsible for our own actions and to a lesser extent those of our dependants, not anyone else. None of us are really part of the club...

Gao And Nelly - What Are Your Intentions At Our Football CLub ?
Matthew Le God replied to pluto's topic in The Saints
Are you seriously expecting them to sign up to this forum and reply to you? Which of our best players did we sell this summer? "Treading water"... Really? The squad has been improved compared to last season with the addition of Hoedt and Lemina. A mess? Really? We are 9th in the league, it could have gone better but it is hardly a disaster to sit 9th out of 92 English league teams! I struggled to see what you gain from every post being negative dribble for the last 11 years. Southampton have been in existence for 132 years... in that time we have had 2 golden era in the top flight. i) the early to mid 1980s ii) 2013 to the present (we've had 4 top 8 finishes in the last 4 years ffs!) We are currently watching our team in only its second top flight golden era... and all you can do is post drivel after drivel of ill-informed nonsense. Cheer up ffs! -
I'm puzzled how any of that makes you be embarrassed to be a fan of the club. How is it personally embarrassing for you?
-
van Dijk looked significantly better vs. West Brom. Unlike previous games this season he was more willing to step out of defence and dribble with the ball as he did so well in the past 2 seasons.
