Matthew Le God replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 4m4 minutes ago Southampton FC retweeted OnsOranje INTERNATIONALS: #SaintsFC's @VirgilvDijk added to the Holland squad for Sunday's #EURO2016 qualifier against Turkey. -
Not really. You don't have to name 8 home grown players, what you can't do is have more than 17 non home grown players.
-
Our squad submitted to the Premier League... (*=Home grown) Alves Soares, Cedric Ricardo *Bertrand, Ryan *Caulker, Steven Roy Clasie, Jordy *Davis, Kelvin Geoffery *Davis, Steven Fonte, Jose Miguel *Forster, Fraser Gerard Gardos, Florin Gazzaniga, Paulo Dino *Isgrove, Lloyd Jeffrey Jimenez Lopez, Juan Miguel *Long, Shane Patrick Mane, Sadio Martina, Rhu-endly Aurelio Jean-Carlo Pelle, Graziano Ramirez Pereyra, Gaston Exequiel *Rodriguez, Jay Enriqus Stekelenburg, Maarten Tadic, Dusan Van Dijk, Virgil Vidal, Oriol Romeu Wanyama, Victor Yoshida, Maya http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2015-16/sep/030915-2015-2016-premier-league-squads-announced.html

Why have you jumped to that conclusion? He is just below Mane, Rodriguez, Tadic and Long in the pecking order. That doesn't automatically mean a manager doesn't think he is a good player a matter of weeks after signing him.

Ronald and Erwin in drag... (yes, really)

They aren't opposites of each other. The graphic isn't a list of buys, it is a list of the cost of players currently in the squad. So it doesn't include the cost to buy Lovren or Osvaldo for example as they are no longer at the club.
-
Cost of current players in squads across the big 5 European Leagues, and Saints are pretty high... 6 clubs higher in England 3 clubs higher in Spain 1 club higher in France 1 club higher in Germany 3 clubs higher in Italy Makes Saints 15th out of all the clubs in England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France. The graphic isn't a list of all our buys, it is a list of the cost of players currently in the squad. So it doesn't include the cost to buy Lovren or Osvaldo for example as they are no longer at the club.

Thats what the potential ability rating is for. At the moment he hasn't proven himself regularly against high quality attacking players. -

His first training session today... -
If they want an Englishman the field is very limited and Pardew would probably be high on any list given there aren't many others managing Premier League clubs. Gary Neville might be worth a go as he is already working with England, but a big risk given his lack of actual management experience.

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
Matthew Le God replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
They only very briefly overlapped at Celtic. van Dijk signed for Celtic on 21st June 2013, Wanyama signed for Saints 11th July 2013. So would have had a handful of training sessions in July together. -
To the Championship? He can't go to Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Portugal etc.
-
The MK Dons game in the League Cup would be a good opportunity for him.

If van Dijk proves himself in the Premier League he'll be getting a boost for the winter update, but until now he hasn't been tested at a high level in domestic football. -

He did play as the left sided centre back for Celtic and he is right footed. -
Wanyama Transfer Rumours - Summer 2015 Edition
Matthew Le God replied to brett24's topic in The Saints
If thats true Spurs are a shambles and don't know Premier League rules. You are only allowed 2 domestic loans and Saints have Caulker and Stekelenburg. -
Bloody hell! Not enough McInnes' in the world for that, so four will have to do... :mcinnes::mcinnes: I wasn't saying that should be the line-up in every game; I was giving a brief overview of options we now have. In any case Koeman uses the formation I used in the OP, has used all of those players in those positions and has used 4 attacking players in the front four roles before. So what did I do that was clueless...?
-
I agree in the short term due to recent events, but I was just offering one potential XI if everyone (bar Forster) was fully fit.
-
Are we? Rodriguez, Mane, Juanmi, Clasie, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, S.Davis and your favourite Ramirez can all play in variations of that role. Thats 8 players.
-
Depends who we are playing.
-
I mentioned it, because as most of the replies to this thread show... people will want to make changes to the one I suggested.
-
The three behind Pelle all rotate during games and its only one option of many now available to Koeman.
