  1. What were you expecting them to do? We normally only get an injury update at the pre-match press conference/interviews that the manager does. The Everton press conference and interview will be on 2nd April. We may get it before perhaps through social media, but they may still not know for certain what is wrong and as we've seen with Rodriguez its pretty pointless putting a timeframe on it.
  2. You said very different things about him in 2012/13 when we were struggling at the start of the season with him in goal.
  3. Thats not true. Sam Vokes... http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/news/article/vokes-previews-southampton-clash-2347128.aspx#esA68FPeqbZZekKJ.99 Danny Ings... http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jan/05/southampton-burnley-fa-cup-match-report
  4. Vokes was simply the player Burnley put in front of the media at the pre-game press conference. The press then questioned him about his Saints ties, Motd and Sky commentators then use the info from the press conferences in their commentary. Had Burnley used Ings and Jutkiewicz then similar would have been asked of them in the press conference.
  5. I think it may be more due to the US playing games in Europe and they use Cropper as a 3rd choice as he is based in Europe.
  6. - Paulo Gazzaniga is 23 years old - Cody Cropper is 22 years old - Will Britt is 20 years old - Chris Johns is 19 years old The Premier League would probably tell us to use them, they aren't kids anymore.
  7. Clyne, Fonte, Alderweireld, Yoshida, Targett, Gardos and goalkeeper coach Watson are all on international duty for much of the next two weeks. It'll be Davis, Bertrand and under 21 defenders at training.
  8. I can't remember how the rules work. Will try and find out but we may not be able to register him.
  9. In the past IIRC our other loans like Billy Sharp returned to Premier League training at Staplewood once the Football League season finished.
  10. Bournemouth won't have training sessions once their season is over, they'll all be off on holiday if promoted on/by 2nd May.
  11. If Bournemouth are promoted automatically their last game this season will be on 2nd May. Saints play Leicester on 9th May, Aston Villa 16th May and Man City 24th May. So Ewell's second question then becomes relevant.
  12. Look at the shot again and consider what Davis would have had to have done (or not done) for it to have gone in. Its hard to see how any keeper would not have been able to save it unless as I said they made a monumental **** up. On a number of occasions he had the ball passed back to him and he dallied on it allowing himself to be closed down, or he passed it to a team mate putting them under pressure. I think that was more for him being the club captain, playing his first competitive game for 13 months and coming into the game in difficult circumstances. He did the shot stopping you would expect any keeper to make and we won the game, he is bound to be praised when a journalist asks about him in interviews with his teammates.
  13. A lot of people have said Kelvin played well today, he made 3 or 4 saves you would expect any keeper to make. Look at them again and for a goal to have been scored from those shots he would have had to make a monumental **** up of it for it to go in. What the Motd highlights didn't show those that weren't there was his terrible distribution, Saints regularly pass the ball around the back and to the keeper and Kelvin Davis is extremely uncomfortable with the ball at his feet and as usual messed up on a number of occasions which nearly led to Burnley goals. It may seem like I have it in for Kelvin Davis, but I do actually like him a lot. He was a key player in League One and the Championship, just he isn't good enough for us at this level of competing towards the top of the Premier League, even as back up.
  14. Saints are a side competing for the top 6, if we want to maintain that aspiration we need better keeper depth.
  15. I didn't say otherwise, but I do find it hard to believe someone can think the quality difference between Davis and Forster is close and have to wonder what they are watching. Which Premier League teams do you think would want Davis as their first choice keeper?
  16. You are wrong... very wrong. There is a large gulf in quality. Davis wouldn't be first choice keeper for any current Premier League side, he is Championship level in quality. A great servant to the club and was outstanding during our rise to the Premier League, but he is out of his depth at this level.
  17. As good as Fonte is.... Alderweireld is the better player.
  18. Bearsy is a briefcase ****er.
  19. Big difference between friendlies where you play different XI's in each half and a competitive game where at least 8 players play 90 minutes at a high pace.
  20. With the players we have available and fit I don't think that is likely to happen, Reed is behind too many in the pecking order.
  21. If fit I doubt we'll see anything other than both Gardos and Yoshida on the bench, I don't think Seager or Gallagher will be in the squad ahead of Gardos.
  22. He is a central midfielder and is still a schoolboy, playing for the under 16's (with a few appearances for the under 18's), where as Gape is 20 years old.
  23. So instead you pick a keeper who hasn't played a single top flight game.
  24. What have Darlow or Heaton done to be ahead of Forster?
  25. Thats not new, current 1st and 2nd year Southampton scholars came from... Josh Debayo - Chelsea Chris Regis - Arsenal Richard Bakary - Chelsea Stuart Wilkin - Chelsea Harley Wilard - Arsenal Olufela Olomola - Arsenal
