  1. Sky Sports News story about possible resignation helps Skybet cash-in shocker! Almost as if they do things like that deliberately... nah, they wouldn't would they?
  2. Can you name any other examples of a football club chairman handing in his resignation and causing players at the club to request a transfer? Not just a normal facepalm Steve, but a triple McInnes! :mcinnes:
  3. And how would "some chancer like Lowe" be able to afford the club now? Fulham for example were sold for £150m last year.
  4. From yesterday... http://blogs.wsj.com/chinarealtime/2014/01/14/wanda-still-has-plenty-of-cash-to-burn/
  5. I don't think Sunseeker are owned by a "guy", they are owned by a Chinese conglomerate company... Dalian Wanda Group Corporation Limited.
  6. From December 2010 after Markus' death when rumours appeared the family wanted to sell. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/9269293.stm
  7. BBC's Ben Smith May 2013... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22510420 Southampton FC statement May 2013... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement-827051.aspx BBC's Ben Smith January 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25736264
  8. Why would we be automatically ****ed if the club was sold? The club wouldn't be sold to no-one, it'll be sold to someone and it is an attractive investment for anyone looking to buy a club in the most high profile sports league in the world.
  9. Here is Diego in Dubai on Saturday with his teammates during Wolfsburg's winter break training camp... https://www.vfl-wolfsburg.de/en/info/news/detailspage/artikel/interview-in-bedouin-tent.html
  10. What makes you think that?
  11. Hard to take the article seriously when they think Ramirez is Italian...
  12. Is it? £7m signing Kozak has broken his leg and is out for the rest of the season, so Paul Lambert has signed a target-man striker (admittedly on the decline) on loan that he knows well to cover Benteke.
  13. As the club are paying for the training ground improvements and large amounts on new players regardless of player sales, why sell Shaw?
  14. That is the Twitter account linked to some random person's Football Manager Handheld 2014 game. This is Clapham Rangers... http://www.claphamrangersfc.com/ They are an under 13's team. It is probably a 12 year old's Twitter account.
  15. Even if you knew Saints were in a position to continue signing players for big money regardless of player sales? If Cortese knows he can, then it is counter productive to sell Shaw as soon as a bid comes in. Yes, £30m is a lot of money but if Saints are able to spend regardless of player sales they should be looking to keep hold of their existing good players and bring in three high quality players each summer like they did with Wanyama, Osvaldo and Lovren to add to academy products.
  16. Shaw doesn't decide the price on his head.
  17. Obviously Neville doesn't he final say, but he is going to have an input into the England squad and starting line-up at the World Cup. If Neville was picking the England team I think there is a good chance he'd put Lallana in the starting line-up.
  18. Gary Neville had Lallana in his Premier League team of the first half of the season. So clearly someone on the England staff is extremely impressed with that particular Saints player.
  19. When did Baines play in the Champions League? If Baines hasn't, why would Shaw need to in order to get ahead of him?
  20. Lallana, Rodriguez, Lambert in the last England squads and Hodgson's very positive comments about Shaw, Ward-Prowse and Clyne show he doesn't have some kind of illogical vendetta about calling up Southampton players. After Cole's likely international retirement after the World Cup, if Shaw is deemed better than Gibbs he'll play ahead of Gibbs. Playing for Saints won't stop him making the squad.
  21. Luke Shaw will still get an England call-up playing for Southampton. It may or may not come before the World Cup, but I bet it does by the end of the 2014/15 season. Do you really think otherwise if he remains with Saints?
  22. He has Baines and Cole ahead of him, no matter who he played for he'd have to bide his time as an 18 year old to get in front of them. Roy has already spoken highly of Shaw as have other in the FA. Its only a matter of time before he is an England squad and then team regular. Playing for Saints won't stop him from that, Lallana, Lambert and Rodriguez have all been called up by Roy.
  23. If we are going to spend large amounts elsewhere in the summer regardless of player sales, why sell a player you don't need to if spending would continue regardless? We've had one of the largest net spends in England since our return to the Premier League.
  24. We were a newly promoted team in the Championship when Oxlade-Chamberlain was sold (he didn't even play a Championship game for us, only in League One!), we are now a top half Premier League side and our players are getting England call-ups.
  25. I have him as able to play as a winger. Which he quite easily could, as he already does much of what a winger would do already.
