The Football League would never agree to such a move. The lower tiers of English football are stronger than any other country, we have professional teams in the 5th tier getting gates of nearly 6k! That would be unheard of anywhere else in the world. The Football League wouldn't welcome large numbers of B teams of Premier League clubs taking up space in the league system, plus it would actually be hard for any B side to compete with some of the large Football League sides in the same way they do in Spain for example.

So pretty much every other club in England follows what Saints do at an academy level!

Because, as you've all said, he's improved since then. But not enough to be a first team regular for a top half Premier League side - which is what Saints are looking for.

He'd be fine for someone in a relegation battle in the Premier League, a return to Hull has been mooted. But Saints will be after a higher quality of player to get in the top half.

Was he? I thought he did quite well for them in a brief loan spell. 4 goals in 14 games for a striker/winger when he only started 6 of those 14 games isn't a bad return.

28 games played and only 1 goal scored for Hull City in the Premier League in 2009/10. He was young, but that still is a poor return.
