The January 2013 HCDAJFU thread...
Matthew Le God replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
What "keeper crisis"? What is wrong with Artur Boruc? He has been very good now that he has been given a run in the team. Given is very much on the decline, there is good reason why he is 2nd choice in a poor Aston Villa side. Again, Rodriguez has looked good in recent games, he hasn't racked up a huge amount of goals because he rarely plays upfront with Lambert doing so well. He is fine as cover and long term replacement for Lambert. -
Nope, a question.
-
Lambert has been used in the withdrawn role before, he does like to drop deep and Rodriguez plays in the advanced role... Boruc Clyne Yoshida Forren Shaw Cork Schneiderlin Puncheon Lambert Ramirez Rodriguez You then have Lallana to come on for the last 20 to 30 minutes. Not ideal to play Ramirez out wide when he is so much better centrally, but until Lallana is fully fit again it may have to do.

BBC Solent Sport @solentsport #saintsfc will be without Jose Fonte and Guly (knee) for Wednesday's trip to Man Utd. Lallana back in contention but short of match fitness I'd guess Lallana will be on the bench, with no Guly Do Prado who will start wide left?

Any player in the world would have been injured by what happened to Lallana in the Reading game. -

With Lallana and Mayuka soon to be back, De Ridder won't be on the bench. -
He said similar on the day he was announced as manager, mere hours later Vegard Forren signed.

Two BIG exclusive interviews tomorrow
Matthew Le God replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Wouldn't be a Sky "exclusive" interview then. People watching it on their website helps get money from advertisers. -
Crystal Palace fans used it for Jose Fonte, so not a Saints original.

Is the issue between MLT and NC a professional or a personal one?
Matthew Le God replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
If there really is an issue between Benali and Cortese, the courts will decide who is in the right/wrong. Has that not happened already, as the whole incident was quite some time ago now? Why are Le Tiss and Benali being "very restrained"? Why hold back? Le Tiss and his son claim to have dirt on Cortese but appear reluctant to reveal it. Could it be that they actually don't have anything or that it is so trivial no-one would care? imo they aren't being that restraint as Le Tissier takes every opportunity he can to criticise Cortese on Soccer Saturday, local/national papers, Twitter, local national radio. It is all one-way in terms of a slanging match in media outlets. -

I didn't say I've been entirely happy with how the club have acted since the takeover. They could have treated people better, but yes I do think the positives the Cortese/Liebherr era have brought vastly outweigh the negatives. For the first time in the club's history we appear to have owners that have very high ambition for the club, the business acumen and seemingly the resources to achieve their ambitions. It should be refreshing for all Saints fans and a time to enjoy our club progress. Of course there will be bumps on the way, Cortese will no doubt grate with some people with the way he goes about things, but to want him out of the club as hypochondriac does is ridiculous. -

Some time since the Pardew sacking perhaps? That sacking saw similar(ish) outcry from the fanbase and media, albeit on a smaller scale due to not being in the Premier League. Cortese made a tough decision then, and was subsequently shown to have been right. Has the success under him not earnt a degree of trust that he knows what he is doing to progress the club to each new level he wants it to? Yes, that will upset people on its way, but if we want Saints to be successful decisions like Cortese makes need to happen. -

Well from what he has revealed so far it isn't anything particularly groundbreaking. He is also reluctant to give Cortese any praise for his stewardship of the club what-so-ever, he merely describes him as spending someone else's money. Yes, the Liebherr money is key, but Cortese is driving the club in all areas and under his stewardship the club has improved significantly and at least appears to have a very bright future. -

Doesn't exactly help its image nationally and internationally to keep seeing a key former player like Le Tissier continue the one-way feud in the media, it also helps to divide the fanbase. -

And yet hypochondraic wants him out of the club. The more he posts, the more apt his username is. Someone might now comment on my username when I appear to be siding against Le Tissier, well my username reflects my admiration of him as a player, since his retirement I've disagreed with a lot he has said in the media. Being a club legend on the pitch shouldn't make you immune from criticism off the pitch. Yes, Cortese has been extremely ruthless with some of his decisions and actions, but I fully believe he is doing it with the club's best intentions at heart for it to progress. That is going to upset people along the way, but he has achieved alot and Cortese/Liebherr estate should have earnt a degree of trust from the fanbase. -

It is Le Tissier that is holding a weekly one-way slanging match over TV/radio/newspapers, not Cortese. Can you really blame Cortese for not doing him any favours if he continues to slag him off regularly in the press? Le Tissier needs to meet Cortese, settle their problems and drop the constant one-way abuse in the media. It isn't helping anyone, let alone the club.
