They had an allocation of 2,400 and sold 2,372. They could have had an extra 700+ more tickets and a full allocation in the away end, taking them to 3,100+ if they wanted, but didn't.

Shaw has now deleted that tweet.

I thought this might interest some Saints fans that haven't seen these areas of our stadium before. It is from the view of a media officer from Norwich City. Not sure why you have gone back a decade and hung onto one point I posted months ago about Chelsea in the mid 1990's averaging less in the Premier League than Saints did in League One. Oh yeah I do, because its CB Fry!

They still pressing forward despite it only being their 2nd season in the top flight. Even if done in stages, it isn't meeting your plan.

I regret using that image now. Mr Sad

Maybe they ****ed it during the gutting process? They were knocking down walls etc in the dome in the Staplewood videos we had earlier in the year.
-
Well Leadbitter were working on it for a number of months this year after gutting it, knocking walls through etc etc and now they've decided to knock it down and build a new dome from scratch.
-
Not my logic, that of a Pompey supporting accountant I asked... actually... "Pompey" and "accountancy"? I see where I've gone wrong!
-
The dome wasn't just an indoor training pitch, it has lots of attached rooms/offices/gym/changing rooms etc, all of which were gutted months ago in order to be redeveloped.

Today's training ground announcement perhaps ties in with the BVI loan taken out in September 2012. BACKGROUND Training ground... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/training-ground-update-527858.aspx BVI loan... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/9970183.Mystery_over_Saints__loan__from_tax_haven_company/?action=complain&cid=10832783 The connection? The original plan was to use the existing training dome in the new redeveloped Staplewood. Today Saints confirmed this won't be happening due to issues with the existing dome. The timing of which links perhaps with the British Virgin Island loan taken out in late Spetember 2012. I posed this question to a Pompey supporting accountant... "Do you think it could be feasible the BVI loan could be a tax efficient way to pay for the new training dome after the construction issue and need to build a new one rather than keep the old one arose around the same time the loan was taken out? Perhaps the two tie in with each other? In which case a potential non issue." His response was... "That would make sense if the club was going to make a profit as debt interest is tax deductible (Where did you learn that from ). Are you confident of making a profit after the expenditure in this year? It's a fair point though." So... We all have no idea if Saints will make a profit or not, but it would tie everything together wouldn't it? Given the huge TV money it is possible I suppose, I don't think our wage bill will be that big (yes Ramirez is on a hefty wage, but the others?). The BVI loan then isn't really an issue and just a financial management technique to fund the unexpected investment in having to build a new training dome when they originally planned to use the old one. Panic over perhaps...? Would be nice for some official clarification though.

I think this thread has come to its natural conclusion. Turkish, don't bother starting a new thread called "Sunderland attendance" for the game on the 22nd, Kraken and I have sorted it!

Deal. Lets phone the city council planning office and get it built!

Well what was the 25k capacity for Stoneham based on...? Evidence from the 15k Dell which was clearly wrong. Until you build it you can never really know, maybe what I'm saying at 45k+ is too big, maybe your 40k is too small. Until it is built you can never really know. Which is what I was raising with the Stoneham example.
-
What about my Stoneham questions...?
-
...as a team in the relegation zone for the majority of the 15 games so far. Do you not think that if we were mid table or higher we wouldn't need a bigger stadium? Even this season we could have had a higher average than the current 30,389 if we weren't restricted to 32k for the Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea etc game.
-
Well that simply isn't true, on the Saints OS it is listed as... 28,004 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/fixtures-results/match-report/index.aspx?matchid=3528311
-
As we don't have a bigger stadium than 32k, it is impossible to know until you do enlarge it if you got the size right. The club originally proposed a 25,000 seater stadium at Stoneham in the 1990's, they based that on what they knew from the information they got from our time at the 15,000 seater Dell. Do you agree that if we had moved to a 25k Stoneham stadium it would have been too small? Cortese commissioned AFL to design early plans for St Mary's expansion, he has talked of his desire for 45k to 50k, yet when I mention it I'm personally ridiculed.
-
Villa have shown that when they were riding high under O'Neil a 40k stadium is fine for them. When they aren't doing well and Saints aren't doing well Villa's attendances and ours are similar. So can't they be similar when we are doing well? And as for Turkish, Villa have spent alot on Villa Park over the last 20 years. Are you suggesting we should never touch St Mary's again? Stadiums evolve and under FFP we need to maximise revenue, which is why Cortese commissioned AFL architects to not just look at expanding stadium capacity but also other revenue streams on site and the surrounding area.
