  1. It is an evening dinner, out of normal working time. It isn't "our" money, it is the clubs money, we pay our money for games of football, it is up to them how they wish to spend it.
  2. As it isn't your time or money, why do you care?
  3. He might go with Fox again.
  4. Celtic sell a lot of branded stuff with H88per on it...
  5. Last two decades more like! Over 20 years since Widdrington, Maddison and Benali played youth team football (getting close to 25 years).
  6. Creationism. Not in British schools anyway.
  7. You could apply the same logic to lots of things. Doesn't mean they require lessons in school about it.
  8. I didn't say "all faith schools" or "every RE lesson at faith schools".
  9. It is in faith schools.
  10. One of the heads of English research is a Birmingham fan!
  11. Not at all. I'm stunned by tonight, Saints have beaten Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace etc this season in the league and then get stuffed 5-1 by Forest! Yes, those games were in the league and the youth cup means more, but even still it is a bizarre result. Group A CLUB P PTS Fulham 18 36 Southampton 18 35 Arsenal 18 35 Crystal Palace 19 31 Charlton 17 30 West Ham 19 30 Chelsea 18 26 Norwich 19 24 Ipswich 17 14 Portsmouth 19 12 Group D CLUB P PTS Newcastle 15 32 Leeds 17 30 Derby 17 28 Barnsley 18 28 Sheff Utd 15 24 Sheff Wed 15 19 Sunderland 17 18 Middlesbrough 15 15 Huddersfield 16 12 Nottm Forest 15 10

  17. 31st is next Tuesday.
  18. How is that fair if at the end of the season things went down to goal difference? Saints for example wouldn't have a chance to score more than 2 goals against Pompey if they needed to overtake West Ham's goal difference. Much fairer for the now 23 team league to be decided on results solely between those 23 teams. Not include fictional 2-0 victories against a side no longer in the league.
  19. The £1.6m winding up order is for November and December's tax bill, they have a lot of other bills between now and the end of the season. They aren't exactly in a strong negotiating position if someone makes an offer for a player and they don't have many of value to sell that other clubs would be interested in.
  20. No they didn't. Unless they pay their bills and get a new owner willing to take on their debts they will. I doubt we'll see any extensions given by judges this time.
  21. I don't see how it is "unjust". You just have to imagine it that Pompey weren't in the league from the start. If they were liquidated it would be a 23 team league, it would be unfair to include results from matches against a 24th team in a 23 team league. Those 23 teams should have a league decided by the games played amongst themselves, not include a few matches against a team no longer present. That would distort things unfairly.
  22. No it wouldn't. Because Birmingham for example haven't played them at all so what result do you give them? Plus it ignores "home advantage" in fixtures.
  23. It makes perfect sense. A team doesn't fulfil its fixtures, so you remove the ones it has played from the league. I really don't see what is wrong with that, there isn't a fairer way you can do it. You have admitted you can't think of an alternative. Until you do I really don't think you can call the current system "ludicrous". Yes, it would make just as much sense. I'm confused as to why you think it is unfair? Explain again?
  24. The very fact they have been here before makes it far more likely they will be liquidated this time. I doubt a judge will give them another chance if it reaches court again like the judge did last time. Why is it ludicrous? It is the only fair way to do it. What alternative method would you suggest the league should do if a team goes bust mid season?
