Someone needs to let Pompey Online know that Southampton Leisure Holdings was set up 7 years before the Football League wrote their rules on points penalties and insolvency events. Their argument that SLH was set up to avoid a points penalty is nonsense, unless Rupert Lowe was able to predict rules written 7 years into the future.

If Saints win their next two games (both are at St Mary's) they will be... - Top (unless a goal swing occurs) or even 3 points above West Ham if they lose away to Ipswich. - Definitely 7 points above Cardiff - At the very least 8 points above Middlesbrough, possibly 11 ahead.

Why would they bid when they could just wait until Pompey disappear and all their players are released and can be signed for nothing?

That argument Pompey have been using doesn't stack up, Southampton Leisure Holdings did have non football related companies. CSI's main non football related company has lost the rights to the World Rally Championship. With that gone North One is worthless, yet CSI still remains in admin. What is keeping it there if Pompey are solvent?

He is 30 years old and spent most of his career in Italy as an attacking midfielder. Even whilst at Saints he has played a large number of games in midfield over the last 18 months. He started this season playing wide right when Connolly was upfront, he also played out wide for Saints in League One for a large number of games. I'd say his best position is as a central attacking midfielder, but he is clearly capable of doing a very good job upfront, as he has shown this season. He is very different to Hooper, who is an out and out goal poacher playing on the shoulder of the last defender.

I'm sure he has been the guest on the Football League show at least once, possibly more since he joined Saints.

I went to the 3rd round game at St Mary's vs Sheff Utd which saw Saints run out 7-0 winners against last season's finalists.
