Very offensive. Could easily be confused for a right winger.

I didn't say they did, but if you listen to the interview they are trying to agree a fee with clubs to stop it going to a tribunal. Martin joining them on loan may lower the compensation price Palace ask for if Clyne agrees to come to Saints. For all we know Clyne may have already agreed terms to join Saints on 1st July and the Martin deal will then make negotiations about compensation price a little smoother.

A possible 3rd itk moment for me following Jack Stephens and Sam Gallagher signing from Plymouth Argyle. A few things... - A "Palace source" has told me that Southampton, West Ham and Newcastle have enquired about Nathaniel Clyne. - This interview http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18340530 - Aarron Martin going on loan to Palace today - a sweetener for a compensation package?

Aaron Martin joins Palace on loan
Matthew Le God replied to jasoneuelllfanclub's topic in The Saints
If Saints were to get Clyne, they'd have to pay compensation to Palace or it would goto a tribunal. So loaning Aaron Martin to Palace could be as Turkish says be a "sweetener". -
How did it work out for them? None of them are still at those clubs, nor did they play many games for those clubs.
-
What "epic fail"? I can see them fine.
-
Leeds before Don Revie... Liverpool before Bill Shankly... Coventry before Jimmy Hill... etc etc etc
-
How can he "snub Sunderland and Aston Villa" unless both those clubs have a bid accepted?
-
The Exeter paper's article was written after they had been relegated but before the end of the season when they still had a chance of finishing top of the four relegated sides. They ended up drawing on the final day and finished 2nd bottom, so if Pompey went under it would be Wycombe that stayed up and not Exeter.
-
It wouldn't be Exeter, they came 23rd. Wycombe in 21st would be the ones saved from relegation.

He has only been in charge of the club for two kit launches. How can you say it "doesn't seem Cortese's style"? In any case, maybe these photo's aren't for the main launch, maybe they are the photos on the club's online shop for a ladies fitted cut version of the kit.

She would have to sign a NDA, her Twitter profile says "A PR Nightmare...", so maybe not the best choice for keeping a secret! https://twitter.com/#!/amandarushforth Isn't "very odd" at all, there are numerous examples of clubs using female models when launching a new kit.

Time to break my cover, I am Lee Holmes!
-
1) Has he had personal interaction with the management of the club for the entire time since the takeover? 2) Would he likely to be aware of what the management are saying to players to attract them to the club? 3) Is he in a better position to know the ambitions and resources of the club than you or I? 4) As he has been released and deemed not good enough by the club, is he likely to be spouting the club's propaganda or are these more likely to be his genuine beliefs based on his experiences of Cortese/Liebherr?
-
Swap "mostly" and "sometimes" around and I'll agree with you.
-
You do when you make a claim that I can easily refute and you have ignored. Respond to my actual points (which you continue not to do) rather than continuing with your usual lack of substance to your debating style and petty insults. Am I the one using petty offensive insults to cover up a lack of debating skills/strength of position?
-
If you are trying to "out do" me, at least read the article. Holmes throughout is talking about Saints achieving success through league placing. He even discusses him "not being surprised if the had a plan" for Champions League qualification - something that can't be achieved through reaching cup finals. I see you yet again return to petty, personal and offensive insults. It really doesn't help your argument in any way or show you in a good light!
-
Take this season as an example, only 4 points between the only guaranteed Europa league place through league position and the final Champions League place. Turkish you have just admitted you think Saints can compete for a Europa League place. If they are good enough for that, then they would be far off a Champions League spot. Lee Holmes even makes the comparison with Newcastle himself. You really are digging your own hole here!
-
I doubt you'll answer any of these, but here goes... 1) He says long term he wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a plan in place for around five years or slightly more. Given he has been at the club the entire time Liebherr/Cortse have been don;t you think he knows more about their intentions than you or I? He has also been released so isn't exactly a club propaganda tool, he is saying so off his own back. 2) As I said earlier, fighting for 5th place (the only league place that guarantees a Europa League spot) often mean you are in the race for 4th place and a Champions League spot for the majority of the season. Do you not agree? I will if you answer both questions. But given your track record I don't hold much hope.
-
Doesn't look like it to me. See my post above. Again see my post above.
-
It seems it is you that needs to read it again. At no point does he use the phrase "push for the Europa League in a few years time". Where as this is what he says when asked about the Champions league... And what about the pinnacle of European club competition, the Champions League? “Long term, I think you could only look to strive for that,” said Holmes. “The long term goals between everyone in the club are that they are looking for the highest achievement in football. “I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a plan in place for that to happen in the next five years, or maybe a little bit longer.” In any case if that is what you claim to have been saying "all along", then you also think Saints can challenge for the Champions League! There is only one spot given through league placing for the Europa League. If you are fighting for 5th place then you are likely to be in the race for 4th for a significant part of the season. We have a BREAKTHROUGH!

- 2006 Middlesbrough in a European final - 2010 Fulham in a European final Is it really beyond the realms of possibilities that Saints could make a European final?

Bump! The rumour is back... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4352558/Liam-Trotter-transfer-Millwall-midfielder-wanted-by-Southamptons-Nigel-Adkins.html

I'd imagine Cortese/other senior management give Umbro a brief and then as you say Umbro provide a number of designs and then Cortese ultimately decides.
